I'm a kindhearted and reliable caregiver. I became a caregiver because I love to help people and it's great experience for a future nurse. I enjoy being a companion and getting to know the person I'm taking care of the most.

I've worked as a caregiver since I was 16 at first with my own family then with home health companies, living facilities, psych wards, hospitals. I have extensive experience with children and geriatrics.

Experience in ADL care, Dementia , Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, OT and PT exercise, and diabetes. I have been doing caregiving for 15 yrs. I have been in the healthcare field for 20 years. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver? I have always liked being around the elderly. I volunteered for meals on wheels for four years. And in those four years. I got a one on one experience of the needs of the elderly. I get to help the elderly keep their dignity and there Independence . And stay in their own home where they feel safe.

What had brought me into like being a caregiver was my grandpa. He has dementia and needs lots of help, so helping him out and talking to him and doing things with him has been amazing and is what I wanted to do. I have been a caregiver for 4 years and being around different people and getting to know them are really what I love to do.

Communication is key, along with encouragement, patience, and creative problem-solving skills. Growing up as a child, I helped my grandmother with her medical needs and that is what inspired me to get in the medical field. Caring for other people makes me feel valued. I have wonderful relationships with my clients. While I am doing their ironing or washing the floor, we're laughing and chatting. They enjoy telling me their stories, sometimes from years ago and I get pleasure from listening to them. Personal achievements that I am proud of are having an associates and bachelors degree in the medical sciences field.

I am a very happy and positive person, i love putting a smile on others faces. I have been working in caregiving for as long as i can remember as alot of my family needed carers. I have always been passionate about helping others whilst providing companionship. I am very proud of being 24 and never giving up on myself. Ive been committed to my health and self care and i feel thats something special to be proud of.
