I have been in the medical field since 1999. I have worked in Homecare, Rehab, Hospital and Office settings. I have specialized in Memory Care, Rehabilitation, Spinal cord injuries and Early Childhood Education. I especially enjoy Homecare settings where I can delivery optimal and comfortable care, companionship and assistance to those whom require/ desire these services. Along with my HHA certification, previous CNA license/ experience I have current BLS, and Drivers License and dependable transportation. I believe everyone has a right to high quality care, and it brings me great joy to provide it.

Hello my name is Maria I am bilingual fluent in Spanish and English. My mother inspired me to be a caregiver, she lost her eyesight due to diabetes and other health problems leaving me in charge of her health care for 12 years which included meal prepping a very restrictive diet, day to day chores, medication reminders, doctor appointments etc. Being a patient and caring person helped my mother when she was down. Years later I had the privilege to do patient care at a liposuction center where I realized that helping people is my calling and what I love to do.

I have been a caregiver for over 30 years and enjoy working with people and being part of their lives. I ran a retirement home as an assisted-living director and ran the dining room and started the Alzheimer's unit. I have been working with home health agencies and also at facilities and enjoy doing activities with the residence and seeing people smiling and laughing because most of them do not have families that come and visit them so basically we are their family. I enjoy being a caregiver and being in their homes because then you get to be one on one with them which makes caregiving more personable and it's a blessing that most of them can stay in their homes. Being a caregiver is not a talent or something that you can be trained on it's mostly what's in your heart and knowing that the elderly need good people to take care of them and One day we are going to be in the position where we will need someone to take care of us so knowing that there are good caregivers out there it just makes it easier on the family to take care of their loved one.

I am a great communicator, and enjoy taking care of people. Being a caregiver comes naturally for me because I took care of both of my grandmothers and my physically challenged neighbor. It gives me joy to make people's lives better by helping out and doing so with a positive attitude. I am a great listener I understand sometimes people just need someone to talk to.
