I came to be in the healthcare field from my mom who was an RN and taking care of some of my immediate family and always been a caretaker. Since my 3+ years as an CNA I researched and met people on how I could bring the certification I received to others so traveled across the USA from NY to Idaho as an CNA in long term care facilities, also with private home care, because I want to give back to the Elderly. The experience of working with families, has given me a better perspective on life and the ability to handle any and all personalities, different levels of care, medical diagnosis. As a young child I had a heart for babies and the elderly. At five years old I was so proud to walk my 80 year old grandfather around our neighborhood. Some people are takers and some are givers. We all know life can be hard, so I like to make it easier for others any time I'm able to . We all have different qualities, and I believe caregiving is a gift. I'm so thankful for the opportunity of caring for my mother after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. I moved into her home, with my then 3 month old baby, to make sure my mom felt loved and cared for. I felt it was my way of honoring my mother and showing respect for all the years she cared for her children. Most people do not get to experience being with a parent when their life is over and I will always consider it an honor.
