I started caregiving for elderly and disabled in high school for family friends for several families . I later was a pharmacy technician for many years and worked as a care taker for several of my customers. I was chosen because I was reliable, patient and treated them like they were my family.

Hello..first off I want to express my belief and reasons for why I'm in this field. People of all ages need assistance. .whether it be temporary or permanent. I have been there when it has come to having babies (they grown now) after surgery, or a long time position of assistant. I love what I do, I have compassion for the hurting and patience. I have sense of humor..don't mind in repeating myself a million times ( that's the patience I have ) when it comes to alziemers Love to stay busy,love to read,LOVE TO COOK, I am a believer In Jesus Christ! my children are grown now,I am a grandma..I schedule my time with my family on my daysoff. I bacame a caregiver because I like to help people and also to meet new people. You learn something new everyday. Hello my name is Helen and I just turned 29 in Nov. I have been doing in home care for almost 5 years (will be in Jan). I love my job and really get joy out of helping people every single day. I was recently working for a chiropractor part time and am also working on my Nutrition and Wellness Degree. Back in 2012 I graduated from UEI College as a Medical Assistant. I am familiar with many medications from dealing with many home care jobs over the years. I also have lots of experinced with taking blood pressure, checking blood sugar, giving insulin injections, along with a list we can discuss in person. I truly believe to be an excellent caregiver you must put the clients needs & feelings first. I strive to make sure all my clients maintain their sense of normalcy and dignity. I have experience with caregiving for clients that are under the age of 10 & over the age of 80. On a personal note: I was my mothers caregiver for the last 2 years of her life. She was on & off of hospice while she battled a liver & lung disease. Currently, I'm a Respite Worker for clients that have a range of health issues.
