I have always had a passion for Caregiving. I enjoy helping others and find a sense of rewardment and pride in what I do. My biggest personal achivement has been my Registered Nursing degree. I am just taking time to study for my boards. I grew up taking care of my elderly family memebers and knew from a young age I always wanted to be in heath care.

When I was around the age of sixteen my grandmother became ill, she didn't want to leave the comfort of her own home, since I visited her often to help her with her daily chores , she asked me if I could make it possible that she could live at home , without question I agreed and for the next ten years I helped her. In return the experience was so rewarding and fulfilling I knew in my heart that was what I was destined to do. The fact I could help someone remain at home and live some what independent. Certified PCA with 16 years experience caring for disabled and terminally ill clients in private homes. Communicate effectively with diverse clients utilizing patience , sensitivity and compassion. I been c.n.a for 17yr and I love doing this kind of work. One thing I can say is dis is my career of choice. I love take care of ealdy people.the most thing I like about my job is the smile I put on my residents face. I'm proud of when I come into work and my residents are so excited to see me. ELSY A JOB WORKFORCE COUNSELOR. TOOK A JOB ASSESSMENT TEST. MISS ELSY RETURNS THEN ASK,WHO ABOUT BECOMING A NURSING ASSISTANT. THERE'S A NEED FOR MALE CNA'S.NEVER HEARD OF THIS TITLE BUT MISS ELSY BELIEVED I'LL BE GOOD FOR THIS. SHE SENT ME TO SCHOOL AND WOW HOW MY EYES WHERE OPEN. I WAS HURT BUT BECAME INSPIRED ALL AT ONCE.I WISHED I KNEW THIS WHEN MY OLDEST BROTHER HAD A STROKE AND MY MOTHER BECAME VERY VERY SICK.I WAS GIVEN A OPPORTUNITY TO HELP ELDERS AND THOSE WHO NEED ASSISTANT WITH THEIR DAILY LIVING, A CHANCE TO UNDERSTAND AND STOP BEING DOWN ON MYSELF FOR NOT KNOWING HOW TO HELP MY BROTHER AND MOTHER. GOING TO THE MN WORKFORCE CENTER AND MEETING MISS ELSY IS WHY, AND I CAN'T BE ANY PROUDER FOR MYSELF. BECOMING A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT AND REGISTERED ON THE MN NURSING REGISTRY HAS BEEN MY BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT. WORK AS A CNA FOR SEVEN YEARS KNOW FINALLY SETTLED.MY WIFE JOB MOVED US A LOT. I HAD A STROKE IN 2012 WHICH WAS HARD ON ME UNTIL A GROUP A RESIDENTS THAT I ASSIST HEARD I HAD A STROKE AND CALLED. THERE MASSAGE WAS WE KNOW YOU'LL BE FINE BECAUSE YOU NEVER BELIEVE IN GIVING UP ON US AND YOUR CONSTANTLY ASKING FOR JUST A LITTLE MORE. WE ARE ASK YOU TO BELIEVE IN YOU BECAUSE WE DO. since a young girl, it was my passion to care for people, whether that be adults, children, pets, ect. I started a PCA job after High School for mentally and physically handicapped adults. It was the only job I truly had passion for, and at the end of the day I believe I got more from them then they ever did me. The most enjoyable part is being surrounded by individuals who just shine with warmth, empathy, compassion, understanding, ect. My proudest personal acheivment was YEARS after I had moved onto another job, I was out with my co workers explaining how I never have loved a job as much as I had that one. I very vaguly described a special bond a client and I had and all the fun things we would do. All off a sudden, a supervisor from another department who had been sitting some feet away from us...stood up and asked if i was talking about "Said Name" , I was taken back but told her yes. After she told me he had passed away, she came up to me with eyes overflowing with tears about how touched she felt by hearing me speak of her uncle with such love and serenity. Two days later she brought me something from her car, a big, white, shadow box of all his favorite posessions (his beloved rosary, favorite teddy bear, empty bottle of Mt Dew (his fav soda) some things he colored, and a few photographers of him) I immidiatly recognized everything in that box, and at that point we both burst into tears and hugged. She told me.... "It's people like you who ,we are truly grateful for, that get to care for our most loved ones. She could tell the people who were just there for a job, and people like me that treated each and every individual as if they were my own brother, son, parent, or grandparent. To this day this story still holds my heart, and it still makes me cry. Sometimes when I didn't think I was good enough for the job, I remind myself what these beautiful souls bring to me. No doubt about it, it is God's work.....
