I have my Certified Caregiving and Certified Nurse Assistant (and PCT) License for 9 years now. I am currently working as A CNA providing care to immigrants that need to quarantine but my job there will be ending soon mid December 2023. I began gaining experience in caregiving, assisted living, rehabilitation centers and have done 3 years night shift at St.Joseph's hospital. I am now in school to receive my bachelors as a Registered Nurse. I have a passion to strive for the care and needs of others as if they are apart of my own family. I also strive to develop trust with not only the patient but the family to always ensure excellent care and respect.

I have been a caregiver for 20+ years. I have continued my education as well. I love working with a diverse group of clients. I work with the elderly and mentally disabled from children to adults. I believe that it has always been my purpose. I am very respectful, compassionate and caring. I am also patient, responsible and trustworthy.

1) Been told from clients I have a great personality. I have been a caregiver for the past 21 years. Started taking care of mentally ill for first 10 years and ended up taking care of elderly the last 11 years. Love it. I love working as caregiver/medical field because I have so much love and compassion for people that is how I suceed in what I do. I realize there is some many rewards and gifts in this line of work. What I enjoy the most is meeting people and hearing about their life and experiences they have live, because everybody always has a unique story to tell. The joy you bring to their lives and the appreciation they feel. The most personal achievement I am most proud of was opening my own successful Adult Assisted living for 4 mental ill adults at 24 years old and having no idea how to run a business. I was well known in the community and was respected by the licensing committee for my excellent work. I kepted that Assisted Living open for almost 10 years. Having that business was where my passion was for caring for people. It taught me how to advocate for people that were not capable of advocating for themselves. I was their voice and that is how I was able to earn respect with people I worked with. Today is why I am so thankful and I am able to soar in my work today.

The most rewarding about care giving is when it felt like there is some sort of purpose in my work. There is a great opportunity to really get me to engage and have the routine like I am doing something bigger than myself because at the end of the day that is where I am going, going more towards what am I doing that is impacting others, how am I helping them because at the end of the day that is what I want to do. I want to help people and I want to be there to provide a service and really help those out who are in need.

I feel so much compassion for others that need some help but still want to be as independent as possible. I have integrity and honesty. I am willing to listen and be emphatic. I fell into being a caregiver when my first husband had a traumic brain injury and found that most spouses leave when this happens, from that time on I became a voice for the TBI persons. My 2nd husband became ill with lung cancer and back to the caregiver mode again. We were able to keep him alive for 3 and 1/2 years with stage 4 cancer because I was his advocate and medical Representative for those years. My most personal achievement came when I was working with disabled persons and was able to learn to communicate with a non verbal down syndrome lady and taught her family to do so also. I have a active finger print card, and CPR card.

Having just completed my training at CareGiver Training Institute, passing the State Exam, and becoming certified in both the AHA First Aid and AHA BLA/CPR Programs, I am excited to embark on a new career as a Certified Caregiver/Med-Tech. While I have yet to obtain work experience in this capacity, I have over two years volunteer experience in which I provided respite care through Odyssey Health Care, as well as volunteering for the Eastside Neighbors Volunteer Program by driving seniors to appointments and/or assisting with shopping needs. I am a compassionate, empathetic, and dependable individual with over twenty-five years experience in dealing with people, as well as countless volunteer hours through the years in working with the elderly as well as with young children through the Vail School District. I have a heart and passion for making a difference in peoples' lives and while this type of work can be challenging, I feel it is very rewarding/satisfying. I also possess a State of AZ Dept. of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card which is good through 9/26/2025, so you don't have to worry about your loved ones safety while they are under my care.
