What I enjoy most about being a CNA is being able to help others in the time of need, being able to get to know my patients life experiences for who they are not only in the past but also for who they are now and learn knowledge from them from their past. I've been working as a caregiver for 17 years now, and until today I still worked once or twice a week working one on one with elderly woman. I am also working as a direct staff professional during the day time 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Mon-Fri at The Mentor Network, I'd assist and coach disable people for they day activities. In doing this line of work, you learn a lot about the person you are caring for, tho you can have experience, you are constantly learning, no two people are the same. I love helping others, I'm caring and compassionate, and show them love and dignity, treating them as if they were my family, that is important. I have trained other caregivers, in the companies I worked for, and always told them, you have to have heart. If you don't, you are in the wrong field. You must show care as if they are your grandparents or parents. There is no better life than helping another in need. I look forward to every chance I have to do so. I'm quiet and clean, but will also joke and make them laugh, once we get to know each other. It is just my personality. I will respect your home, and your things, and take care of them as well as provide light house chores to help you out around the home. In the end, we are here to help one another, and if I can have the opportunity to do this forever, I will.
