After high school, I attended Maric college of medical careers. (medical assisting course.) After graduating, I worked in family practice as a back medical assistant. I continued my Education by taking an EMT course at Mesa College. From there I worked as an respiratory tech for a home oxygen therapy company. After starting a family, I worked as program manager for a senior congregant lunch program. I relocated from Ocean Beach to Oceanside and have been working as an independent contractor on several different cases. I love the work I do and I'm good at it. I'm reliable, dependable, trustworthy, outgoing and friendly. I have reliable transportation with a good driving record and can easily pass a background check. I don't drink smoke or do drugs... I hope you will consider me in your search for the perfect fit for your family needs. Thank you and have a happy day every day! Tammy *

Hi, I first became a caregiver because I wanted to know what it was like helping someone in need. After my first client I realized how much I love being a caregiver. I enjoy everything about my job. I feal very lucky and blessed to have found my calling. I love learning new things especially if they are medical related. I have done case management in a residential home which included scheduling appointments, ordering medications and/or medical equipment, Interview and training new caregivers and weekly meal planning. I have worked with patients with COPD, hoyer lift,MS,Dementia and Alzheimer's and skin cancer treatments. I have also experience in hospice care. The bond that I create with my clients is a wonderfull experience. I like to bake and try new recepies. On my spare time I like to go shopping, do arts and crafts, read non fiction books and watch movies. Oh and I recently started painting.! I think everyone has something unique about themselves and what ever their talent is or was I like to get inspired by it and try new things.

I first learned that I enjoyed patient-care back when I was a medical assistant in a private practice. I enjoyed learning and caring for others. I became a personal caregiver in 2005, and since then I have been able to assist many individuals and their families. I have found that my love for patient care today is done at a more personal level because every individual that I have assisted has their own personal needs; some need help with recovery, while others just need comforting and care through their aging process. By assisting patients in their home, to keep their routines, help them with medications, or just the in the simple act of being a good listener, I have found makes the world of difference to them--I am happy to have made a difference in someone's life. I am very proud of being a professional caregiver. Care-giving is an occupation which I have chosen and in many ways it has chosen me. My life has been influence by the many fine people of which I have had the privilege of knowing and providing care. Many of these individuals gave me the greatest gift that one can receive- their knowledge and experiences. I have a little more understanding of life and history as seen through their eyes. It has been a privileged to care and provide comfort.

I believe that I am an awesome caregiver due to the fact I have over eight years of experience. I am very patient, loving, and nurturing. I like to get to know my clients and get them to engage in things they like. I have a very bubbly personality and a warm smile. I go above and beyond with comfort measures. I have great communication skills and talk to them as I am going along so they know what we are doing every step of the way and aren't startled or caught off guard. I have experience with redirection, and transfers. I build wonderful relationships with my clients and set a comfortable family environment in which they feel safe and accepting of my duties there. I serve as their eyes, their legs, their arms, a friend, an advocate, an errand girl, a chef, a housekeeper, a med tech or whatever their needs are I am there to meet them!! I started off as a Medical Assistant but when my grandmother took ill I quit my job to help my mother care for her since my mother was ill her self and attended dialysis. I learned to care for the elderly and fell in love with it. I enjoy hearing their stories and adventures. At times I believe I was born in the wrong era because I have an old soul myself. What I enjoy most as a caregiver is building relationships with my clients. Although eventually they pass due to natures course I am happy to have met them and served them well in their last stages of life. Something I am proud of is continuing my education an enrolling in Nursing school. When i officially graduate I will pursue the Home health industry still working for Hospice as an RN. I have been a caregiver almost a decade and I have learned so much through my clients. Not just from a professional perspective but also just a better human.

I was a self-proprietor for the last 20 years+. I have come to a cross-road in my life which I need to decide what to do with the next half of my life. I was fortunate to have had a successful business which took care of my family but I knew it was time to move-on. I remembered wanting to become a nurse when I was a little girl but as they say "life happens" and I took a different route in my career. So few years ago, I had a chance to help a lady whose husband became ill and needed constant care and I had the time to become her "helper" in the care giving needs. As everyone knows, caregiver is a 24/7 job. It was more difficult then I imagined but the rewards were so gratifying. The look on their face of gratitude and happiness made me realize that I had to follow my girlhood dreams of helping others. I took a medical assistance course and currently working part-time as a caregiver. I realized that after a hard days work, this is the only job that made me happy, to bring dignity to those who felt they have lost, the "moments" of happiness I see in their faces knowing that someone truly cares. At the end of the day, I am the selfish one who wants to continue this work for the gratification I feel knowing that I am needed.
