I like to give great care and I feel being a caregiver gives me that opportunity. Hello, I am a 20 year old full time student, with a part time certified nursing assistant position at mercy medical center. Im looking for an extra job with low hours. I have been a CNA since 2017, and love helping people as much as i can. I believe that sometime all that people need is company and a some help. Some expertise that helps me be a great care giver is experience, I've worked in facilities, home care and memory care when it comes to caregiving. Over the years I've learned a lot of techniques and different ways to do things that will help the person I'm taking care of/ assisting in the most comfortable way for them. What attracted me to become a caregiver is caring for people who can't care for them selves, whether it be someone who is injured, someone who's in recovery, someone who can't walk, someone who can't talk and do things for their selves. I was attracted to caregiving because I get to help the person with what they need and hopefully help them recover or just give them good memories and go further in life with the best days and many days after. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is knowing every day I'm going to help someone through their day and make it as fun, easy and comfortable as possible. I get to help them with their daily activities and possibly put a smile on their face as I help them. I get to grow a bond with the person I'm caring for and help them look forward to every day that comes next. I enjoy caregiving because as a mother it's just a natural instinct to want the best for the person and help them with whatever needs they need no matter what it is. I enjoy caregiving because it puts smile on my face, makes me happy and it's truly something I enjoy and I want to continue. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is helping someone achieve their goals because then I have achieved mine. My whole achievement is helping someone with whatever they need help with. Even if theirs a little bump in the road that delays the process as long as it gets done I am proud of it.

I like being a caregiver because I like helping people. I chose to become a caregiver because it is a step closer to where I want to be in the medical field. Nursing is my calling and helping people is where I need to be in life.

I have been a CNA since 2003. I worked in Dietary for a convalescent home. During my time working in dietary, I saw that our residents needed lots of support and I wanted to make a difference. I have experience as a in home care provider for a bedridden patient. I provided wound care, nourishment by G tube, required medications, and daily ADLS. I have been primary care giver for my grandfather providing daily ADLs, medicine intake, and meals. When my mother became ill, I served as her primary care taker as well. She was bedridden, so I was responsible for providing her daily meds, wound care, managed her nourishment by TPN, and provided hourly body rotations to prevent bed sores. I learned how to do wound care, how to manage KCI wound vac, and I'm familiar with mechanical lifts and sliding boards for transferring. A personal achievement I am proud of is that hospital staff would compliment me on the care I was providing my mother. They were impressed that even though she was bedridden for over a year, she never got a bed sore. I love helping our patients and building relationships with them. At times I've been told not build relationship so it doesn't get personal, but I find that the more comfortable they feel with me, the more receptive they are to my support and I can provide better care. I'm a very caring and patient person, and I want to continue helping those in need.

I became a caregiver because I have a loving heart and love to help people. I have a severely handicapped son I wouldn't trade for the world. I also took care of my dad while he was dying and I feel I can help people and there families through the difficult times.
