I grew up helping seniors I knew and have always loved doing so. I love being needed and feeling like I am making their life better, happier, healthier. My 40 plus years as a licensed Hairstylist has given me alot of people skills. I am an empathic soul and have compassion for people hurting or needing help. As I know, illness and aging is apart of life, if I can help to bring a caring, and comforting helping hand, I feel I'm doing something that is meaningfull.That brings me joy. I know GOD is using me in a beautiful way. I do my best to follow instructions given and make sure my clients needs are met. I stay focused on the job I'm doing. I'm adaptable . I am a certified caregiver with the State of California and have had a background check which is required for your protection by the State. I have taken continuing education classes. 5 This year that were CNA related training and passed them.

And I never got fired from any jobs.

To be a caregiver is all I've ever wanted to do, I feel like I was born to be a caregiver. And I really love to communicate with elders. I can learn more life experience from them. Also I will be happy when I have the ability to bring some comfort to the elderly, that's so wonderful to see the smile on their face.

I pride myself on how patient I am , I really love what I do , I've always been the caregiver of my family . What made me want to become a caregiver was one of my own aunts got stage 4 cancer and I then put myself in trade school for CNA so I could learn how to care for her . Everyone has a story. I like helping people and found working as a 'Home Care Aid' very fulfilling. Several years ago, my first client was a woman in hospice and I filled in so the family could get some rest. As I sat beside the lady, I looked around the room and saw pictures of her as a young woman on her wedding day, as a young mother and later as a grandmother. Her cook book was there with all kinds of personal notes etc. and just think I was so lucky to have been able to be there with her for that short time. Most of my clients I have been able to help with errands, transportation, meals, assisting with bathing and companionship. I value the time I have spent with the new friends I have made - short term and long term.

My main focus of care for elderly is giving them the attention and love through the care I give them. Their well being is my priority. I am quite adaptable to any environment and because of that I'd like to think I am very friendly. I understand that not everyone is the same so I tend to approach each individual with an open mindset. This is also why I enjoy caregiving because I get to learn from them about life experiences and as they share their wisdoms. The idea that I could be of help to someone, attracted me to this line of work.

My personality traits are that I I've listening to great jazz music, I enjoy cooking & eating healthy meals. I'm a person who loves to keep conflict down for the sake of everyone's health. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that I enjoy working with people, and trying to make a difference in there lives. What I enjoy most about doing in home care most is knowing that I have made someone have a better day.
