I am a great caregiver because I really enjoy talking care of people.I have been a caregiver for over23 years I think of the people that I care for as my own family and loved ones.There is nothing better I rather do then to care for people.

I'm single mother w/ 4 kids and a granddaughter. My kid's ages are 22,18,17,15 and granddaughter 3yrs old.I love kids and elderly people. My passion was always to treat people with respect. I loss my mom 10yrs ago from cancer.I talking to people helping others.Very outgoing person love learning different things and meet new people. I enjoy cleaning, cooking just being a good listener and a helping hand.

I have taken care of my parents and I would treat my clients as I would have done for my parents they stayed at home and were cared for in the comfort of their own home. You have to have compassion and treat clients with respect and dignity. Always let them feel they are still independent not treating them like a child. I had my own Adult Family Care Home and I specialized with Dementia residents. I am a dependable, caring and loving individual and I would never treat them any less or make them feel any less than the adults they are.

Why did you become a Caregiver? My mother lost about 70% of her stomach from cancer and was in need of a Caregiver. I decided to quit my job at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and become her full-time Caregiver. What do you like about being a Caregiver? Clients really appreciate the service I provide for them. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Putting my personal needs and wants aside to take care of my mother during a time when she was at her lowest point (emotionally, physically, mentally & financially), due to cancer. Tell us something about yourself. -I have seven years of experience as an Elderly Caregiver (Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Cancer, Hepatitis B & C, and other medical conditions). -I am Honest, friendly, and very compassionate with all my clients. I know how important it is to focus on helping my clients use the skills they currently possess and to be patient with any limitations they have. -I am a military wife, mom of 4 adult children, and 2 grandchildren. I'm also a part-time student at Florida State College of Jacksonville.

I have been in the Healthcare field since 1980. I started out as a Patience Care Tech in Portsmouth General Hospital back in 1980. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1982 and later became a Home Health Aide 1989. I wanted to do more for Seniors and in 1999 I became a Certified Activity Director to provide quality care to Seniors in Nursing Home I worked as a Activity Director until 2019 and started to focus more on a caregiver although I was working as a Home Health Aide /Caregiver since 2011 only as needed. Now I am looking to make caregiver my Full time job. I enjoy what I do whether I provide quality of care in someone home,hospital or nursing home.

I am a great caregiver and enjoy being a member of the patient care team. Provides age-appropriate patient care. This includes assisting patients with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, catheterization, wound care and dressing changes , obtaining specimens, providing intravenous therapy, administering eternal feedings, pre- and postoperative care, caring for patients with tracheotomies, basic airway management, and assisting with life-sustaining procedures, including CPR. Report changes in patient condition to RN supervisor or family, records patient information in the medical record. Communicates effectively, and cooperates with team members to ensure continuity of care.
