I am a great caregiver because I was raised around women my grandmothers mostly and I would help them care, cook, clean as a young girl. I became a nurse/caregiver because I helped my grandmother take care of my great grandparents when I was younger. My great grandmother was diagnosed with MS and I helped take care of her as I watched her decline. This is what I enjoy doing most.

I truly feel that being a caregiver is my purpose here on earth! It gives me so much joy to put a smile on my clients face! I watched my mother take care of my sick grandmother as a child! The love, the patience and privacy she always showed her mom was priceless! She made my grandmother smile every day! Later, in life when I was a teenager, I had to step up and help my mom due to surgery. I took so much pride In taking care of my mom. I can go on and on about being a caregiver! I became a caregiver because i wanted to help others to help themselves and because I enjoy knowing that I can make a difference in someones life. I like knowing that I can make someones life that much easier just by being patient, understanding, kind, loving, and willing to listen as well as paying attention to things to help them in their everyday life. I have 3 beautiful children ages 23, 17, and 14 2 boys and a girl she is the youngest I love working with others and don't mind working hard I would not change what i do for anything I love the challenge of being able to change things around for people when most people might think that it is a waste of time I believe that any and everything is possible if you work hard enough for it.

I have worked in the school district as substitute teacher for four years. Before that I worked as a private Nanny who also did home care work with other family members in the households. I have worked a lot with children with disabilities as a home care giver and as a para professional in the school district. I ran errands, planned schedules, answered phones, took kids to and from activities, and provided meals, helped with toilet training, and bath time. I have also worked with older family members which has always been enjoyable for me. I would drive them to and from where they needed to go, help with groceries, give them medication, laundry, assisted with feedings and other needed things around the house.
