I love taking care of the elderly because when my grandparents were alive I would help my mother take care of them, this is how I realized this was my calling. Caring for my grandparents gave me first-hand experience in caregiving. When I take care of others, I am reminded of my grandparents and hope to provide the same love and care for others.

Hi, my name is Vanessa Phillips. I am a mother of two, a daughter (8) and a son (3). I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 8 years now. I have worked in pretty much every area of my field such as geriatrics, hospice, home care, assisted living, and so on. I love the Nursing field and will be continuing my career as I got accepted into LLCC's ADN program beginning this Fall. I have worked so hard for this opportunity and hope to become an RN in 2023 after graduation and passing my boards. I am very passionate about Nursing and I believe this shows in my work and everyday life. I have a mothering, patient nature about myself and love to care for others by being helpful, promoting independence, and making great differences in their lives. I am a hardworking, team player, but I also prefer to be on a one on one basis with clients as I tend to provide quality care and attention to them because that is usually what most seek, companionship. I enjoy perfecting my craft and can't wait to become a great Nurse one day.

I have been a CNA since 2007 after completing a health occupations course in high school. I have always had a passion for helping people and am truly blessed to have landed a wonderful career in healthcare as a radiologic technologist. I have done various caregiver jobs from hospital, in home and nursing home thought the years, especially while I was in college. The reward of being able to help those in need is a wonderful blessing. Life gets busy and sometimes we need an extra help from another person to help continue life. I enjoy every client or patient I have ever taken care of and enjoy hearing stories from back in the day! I have continued serving those in need outside my full time position. I currently work Monday through Friday and have every Saturday and Sunday off. I am looking to assist others on Saturdays and Sundays. I am current on BLS and CNA.

My selflessness and patience is what makes me a great caregiver. My clients love that I am easy to confide inz. They also appreciate my always willing to help attitude. I decided to become a caregiver to gain experience on caring for other before I become a registered nurse. I feel that having a caring nature is very important in the healthcare field and becoming a caregiver is a great way to master that skill.
