I am deaf with cochlear implant, uses ASL (American Sign Language) and English. I am a college student attending HCC, I went to WSU Tech for 3 1/2 years and just now recently transferred to HCC. and I have a part time job where I work at is my favorite place to work and loving it everyday. I am very determined, honesty, team player, compassion, caring and loving the people I take care. I am friendly and always willing to cooperate with anything and are willing to work things out if it gets in the way. I am willing to work with the schedule way around it. I am a CNA and CMA at my job for almost 7 months now and I am certified CNA and CMA for a year now. I do have 3 certification is CNA, CMA, and Phlebotomist Tech. I am working on getting HHA certification then two degrees of Nursing; LPN and RN. Being a caregiver is my passion because I love taking care of people and give them the best care that they do deserve it! I enjoy go over and see them, checking in, help with anything they needed! I would DO ANYTHING to put a beautiful smile on their face. I love to cheer them up and make sure they are having a good day with a big smile on the face! My personal achievement I am proud of is that I have overcome ALOT of things in my life right now also with a bad childhood growing up but still fought through it! I am first high school graduate and first attending in college. I am a honor roll student throughout the years of high school and college. I have 3 certifications in medical field! My dream is to own a nursing home for Deaf & Hard of Hearing residents with D/HH workers that are able to uses sign language and make the environment comfortable and easier for each other!

I'm a new member of the Wichita community. My husband and I moved here from the Manhattan area where I worked as a para educator for 9 years. Needing a change, I worked toward my CNA,CMA, and HHA certifications. I have worked in Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Home Care and Hospice all of which I loved. I have an early work experience as an EMT,(no longer lisenced), and years in phlebotomy. I've also worked as a CNA in a surgical center in various areas of the building. I spent 1 1/2 years after we moved here, recovering from shoulder surgery and working in a preschool center while getting situated in our new to us house. We have two daughters, one is married with a 4 yr old and 8 month old and the other is a Jr in college at Bethel. I grew up a farm girl, spent valuable time with my grandparents, and have been involved in many activities myself and with our kids. My family has always come first and I have always worked jobs that would allow me to live and be in their moments as they were and are happening! We are total hands on grandparents to our grandchildren when needed and possible. I love flea markets, refurbishing furniture, I have my own picture painting site, yard sales, shopping, and being in our yard. My heart and soul are extremely down to earth and when I enter a clients home, they are what matters while I am there. Their comfort and happiness with my work, long after I leave, is important to me until I see them again.

I am a caring woman who enjoys helping others, that explaining why I became A healthcare worker. To see someone smile from just hearing A few kind words is very gratifying. I have worked very hard to support my four daughters alone. I enjoy learning a lot! I plan on starting school in the near future and I can't wait. I am Very easy to get along with. I appreciate constructive criticisms From co-workers and bosses, also I think good communication Especially in the health care field.

I have always been a caregiver since I was a little girl. I knew than I wanted to get into the nursing field to do just that , take care of people. I love being able to do for others what they can't do for themselves. Or to be able to assist them to get back to where they can be more independent. I left school at a young age but I went back in Oct of 2013 and by December 2013 I had my diploma. I right away enrolled in college for the C.N.A program and got my certificate in April 2014. I used to do direct care but before I was certified so only cold work for friends or family. Not I am certified and ready to help make a difference. I helped take care of my grandparents, and I absolutely loved it. I will treat your loved one as if they're my own family.

I became a caregiver because i love working with the edlerly and listening to their stories and so they can have someone to talk to and enjoy being around for companionship. For them to like me too. I love being around the edlerly i would visit my grandparents so i could get to know them and they could know me.

*A caregiver should be known for their sensitivity, their giving nature and their nurturing desire to help those in need. *One of the best qualities a caregiver can have is a sense of empathy for those being cared for. *We must be able to separate ourself from potential anger and resentment and not take the situation personally, all while still providing high-quality care services.

I became a caregiver because I as teenage I helped my parents take care of my great grandmother in our home until she passed away. I loved it, and took care of elderly people on the side all high school. when my grandma needed helped I took care of her until she could no longer live alone. I like being a caregiver because i love to help people, A personal achievement that i am most proud of is graduating from college. I am single mom raising 2 boys, trying to work full time and go to school full time as well. I am hard worker, loving, patient and kind. i am on time, dependble and trustworthy.

My fiancés name is Bobby and we don't have a date set yet. I seem to think I'm a nice caring loving person. I went to beauty school to get out of my comfort zone and try something new. I am going to go back for my RN in a year or so. I'm waiting so my daughter will be a little older and I'll be able to focus more on school. I graduated high school at Andover eCademy in May of 2014.

I have chosen to be a Can or private caregiver because I helped my great grandmother when she needed all the help in the world. I devoted my life/time just to my grandmother. I have a big caring and giving heart. my passion in life is to help those in need. I dedicated every second after my great grandmother passed to going to school to become a Certified nurse aide, because I seen how the aides were and acted to my grandma and I knew how much she loved them just like her own family. I am Djada Collier I am 19 years old and currently going to school to become a paramedic. I have lived in Wichita, ks my whole life and do not plan on leaving any time soon.
