I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy. It does my heart good when the person and family I care for tell me "thank you". My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I have learned a lot of different things about being a caregiver such as, womb care, medication, transferring just to name a few. I am a single mother of 2 boys 1 girl and I am going to pursue my nursing career. I also have experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care. My current job is working on the ICU unit of a hospital so i have gained a lot more experience in the medical field.

I am a great care giver because I love helping others And I was taught to always respect my Elders and show them the care you would want some one to show your family members.

I know the reason that I am a great caregiver because I care about the people that I take care of. I treat each and everyone as a part of my family. It is not about the job but how you want someone to treat your love one, that is the reason I became a caregiver.
