I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. Have worked with Alzheimer, Dementia and behavioral health patients for 10 years. Have worked with with patients of every age over the last year with licensure IE: CNA, HHA, GNA, Companion Care. Just complete licensure in PCT. I am working on my degree in Nursing and minoring in Psychology. I am very attentive, kind and extremely caring. I do not treat patients as just patients, but as individuals with each case having unique needs. I go above and beyond where each individual feels safe and has fun. I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy. It does my heart good when the person and family I care for tell me "thank you". My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I have learned a lot of different things about being a caregiver such as, womb care, medication, transferring just to name a few. I am a single mother of 2 boys 1 girl and I am going to pursue my nursing career. I also have experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care. My current job is working on the ICU unit of a hospital so i have gained a lot more experience in the medical field.
