I have been in the caregiving field for over five years. I too have taken on the responsibility of taking care of loved ones until they passed away. I believe you have to have a special gift to be a caregiver and I definitely have been blessed to have that gift. If you give me the opportunity to allow me to assist in helping take care of your loved ones you will definitely be pleased.

I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. I love working closely with families and clients to make sure their care and companionship needs are met. I am able to adapt quickly to different working environments. I firmly believe in providing compassionate care to enhance the quality of life for an individual. As a former employee of Snakemans Tattoo Studio I learned the importance of sterilization, blood borne pathogen safety, and customer service. I also learned the value of communication, critical thinking skills, time management, and teamwork while working as a CNA at Golden Living Center and Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury (SVWC). I started my career as a caregiver at the age of 16, my first job was at a nursing home, this was before having to be certified. All trainig was on the job. In 1980 I recieved my first certification as a Geriactic aide. In 1990 I recieved my certification as Certified Nursing Certificate. I had a child with special needs in 1985, I started working with people with disabilities, I worked with ARC for 26 years. I view caregiving as not only a job, but also as a gift from God. love helping people. I am a Christian, I teach Sunday school . I recieved a certificate in alchohol and drug addiction in 2017. My desire is to start a support group at my church.

I think what makes me a great caregiver is the feeling that i feel within me that i am helping someone at a time in their lives when they need it,the act of promoting independence and self-esteem gives me pleasure. I also consider it a blessing to care for the elderly.I became a caregiver because i enjoy helping people,especially those who need it the most. I decided that i would like to help people who need help taking care of their loved ones or themselves,by taking care of them exactly the way i would like my own mother to be taken care of.The most rewarding thing about being a caregiver for me is knowing i helped someone who was in need to the best of my ability. Nothing for me surpasses that peaceful feeling. I worked for the same family for a long time because,my employer knew that as long as i was taking care of their loved one,their mind was at peace.I went to work everyday ready to give exceptional care to my client,this is something i strive towards in my work relationships with clients.
