I am a caregiver because I enjoy helping people. I am a very patient, compassionate person who takes pride in making sure someone is happy and safe. Providing care for someone and enabling them to live a more fulfilling life is very rewarding to me knowing I did all I could to assist.

I'm humble, loving, caring and take my walk very seriously. I love to smile a lot and very patient with any body especially my clients. I don't mind in assisting to do domestic households work.

My father had a stroke ten years ago and his situation has generated into dementia. I have been taking care of him. This experience changed me. • What I like about being a caregiver is the gratification of helping and serving people who at times are so helpless. Putting a smile on their faces despite their agony and tribulations make my day. • A personal experience I am proud of is serving my clients life with decisive and good judgment to activate an emergency response system when I arrive work an immediately realized that her condition has deteriorated and she appeared discolored.

I became a caregiver in 2009 after seeing my Dad being sick at a Hospital and not treated well. I like being with other people. Especially older people are very fun to be with. I like the knowledge, empathy and understanding of an older person and I always fell good being with older people in general. I like the feeling helping older people in their daily activities. Its a huge pleasure to feel how they show their gratitude and appreciation when they are getting just a little helping hand in their daily life. I feel like I am a very organized person who like to make other peole feel good about them self. I am a Mom of three teenage daghters and I love spending time with them as well.

I became a caregiver solely on the simple fact of trying to be like my mother at first. But it was soon after I begin my first job at 17 years old that I found I really have a passion for helping people. The look of gratitude and appreciation that comes from the people you take care of surpasses any other amount of money or material satisfaction that I could have imagined. A lot of people chose to be in the health field because it pays well, but if you don't have a passion for what you are doing, it is pointless. I care for others as if they are my own family. I love to talk and get to know my clients so we can both come to a comfortable understanding of each other. A personal achievement of mine I am proud of is continuing to further my education. Education is key to understanding a lot about yourself. So I take much joy in my schooling. I am a junior at Coppin State and have been a GNA for the past three years. I love what I do!
