I became a caregiver because when I was young my grandmother had lung cancer really bad she was in and out of the hospital and I always wanted to be the one to take care of her. My name is Amanda, I'm a 27 year old wife and mother of 3. I waited until all of my kids were in school to Persue my dreams of helping anyone in need, I just recently became a Cna and am now on the N.C. nurse aide 1 registry. I've been in and out of nursing homes from the time I was very young and I always loved how patient and loving my family members nurse's were but I also got to see some pretty nasty one's who we're only there for the money so from that point on I knew I wanted to be someone who the patients could count on like family.

I became a caregiver because I have always loved the medical field and also helping people. It is the most fulfilling job to have. I put my whole heart into taking care of not only their needs but I am their friend as well. Someone who they can always trust. I don't just like being a caregiver, I absolutely love it. To be able to help someone and care for them the way they truly need to be is the best feeling in the world. I am most proud of my care giving job at the moment. I take care of a paralyzed man. I have been trained as a CNA on the job but I don't have my certification, however also do housework. Feed him. Bathe him. Get him in and out of bed. I do everything he needs. This job humbles me daily for him to be so happy in his condition. I have taken up quickly and learnt a lot. That's my proudest accomplishment. One thing about me, very hard worker with the biggest heart you'll ever meet. I put everything into making sure he is taken care of, and happy. I always knew this was the field I was called to be in. I truly care about my patients, they are like family to me. I am a very attentive person, and love for them to always look their best.
