I am a Certified Caregiver, I also have a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification. I currently care for my mentally disabled sister in law. I also cared for my mother in law. I have excellent references. I am not new to caregiving just new to CareLinx.

I became a caregiver because my grandmother worked in the nursing field so that's all I really grew up in. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is being able to come in and be the help the clients need and seeing the smiles on their faces knowing they have someone genuinely caring about their needs. I have been in the medical field for over 30 years. Over the years I have worked in Hospitals, Doctors offices, Outpatient Clinics, Homeless shelters and Home health private care. I've enjoyed working with patients of all ages that have had all different kinds of health concerns. The best part about Home health care is that you have more time to build a one on one relationship with your patient. Being a caregiver has taught me that being humble and treating everyone how you would like to be treated is one of the most important beliefs to have.

I love the elderly. I have been in love with classic movies since I was a teen. Edward G Robinson, Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwyck just to name a few are my favorite actors. These people lived in that era and they possess a wealth of wisdom. I love listening to them and worked as a certified nursing asst. in a day program for Alzheimer and dementia patients for 4 years.. I left being a care giver for quite some time and ran a successful daycare which was featured on a program called the visionaries on PBS and seen all over the world. I won the home based small business administration award and was asked to say a speech and introduce Hillary Clinton. I recently moved to North Carolina Fort Bragg area after briefly working at the Arturo Shromberg senior citizens center in the Bronx NY. I really made some wonderful connections with the people there. I truly believe that the love and kindness I feel toward the elderly is a direct extension of the love I had for my own mom whom I lost a short while ago and that someday I will reap that kindness when I myself reach my golden years. I want to leave some good memories in the hearts of those I care for! I am thankful for those years I had helping to train the next generation and have just completed my training for my hha certificate to prepare me once again to work with the elderly. I am just a few credits from completing my associates degree in accounting and then I hope to go on for my bachelor's degree.
