I've always wanted to work with older people or mentally challenged people. My mom is a nurse. When i turned 18 i started volunteering at Herritage assistant living, i volunteered for 2 years. Hi, My name is Starr and I began my career in caregiving for the elderly and disabled 3 years ago; before then I've taken care of babies and young children all throughout my life. I have been a CNA (certified nurses assistant) since July 2017 as well as CPR and first aid certified. I genuinely enjoy caring for others. I feel that my purpose in life is to serve and make my presence comfortable to be around. As a 23-year-old I have the compassion and energy to fulfill the needs of each person I assist. Working in assisted living, home health, and long term care, I have cared for up to 25 residents at a time in assisted living and an average of 15 residents in long term care. My duties have included: laundry, serve and assist snacks and meals, housekeeping, activities, bathing, transferring, and general adl's (activities of daily living). I do have experience with people who have dementia and Alzheimer's. I have reliable transportation with insurance as well.
