I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! From there, I plan to work towards a master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. I became caregiver because I use to take care my Mom when she was seek and I love when I was doing it that's why I know as soon I have a chance to learn how to do it better I got it and become Nursing was my dream since I was a kid I thank God that. I have my little boy he was diagnosed with asthma before I was worried about now I know how to take care of him , what to make eat for health to be strong before I has to see his pediatrician every 2 and go to emergency every 2 times a month right now he can play all day long , even his pediatrician got surprised he is in good health I make him eat more vegetables , fruits, he drinks more water than juice he is happy and I am happy we don't visit any emergency room for 2 years, no more medication at school even at school, I am proud of that and I thank God.

I have compassion for people and i have firsthand experience. I have my son who is 25 and autistic and still lives with me putting him in a home is not an option. I understand that people always choose to stay in their homes over a nursing home. I love people and my goal is making them comfortable and happy.
