Hello. .My name is Sherry. I have been working for a Cna for about 10 years now. I have always had the passion to assist others and help make a difference with someone life. I have done the home health side as a part time job for about 5 years now working with clients that need all different levels of assistants to help make the client life have the most quality we can. I feel that I am just an extension to them and to assist them.with what they are unable to do.for themselves . I assist with Adls. Meal preps ., light house work , companion care. Help with rom and excerises left by therapy.

I am easy to talk to. I like to see people smiling. Completing my care. I managed to be married for 26 Years and raise 4 Children.

A great caregiver goes above and beyond unknowingly , its second nature for them to give it their best at everything, .....all the time......from their dress code to how they talk and the small stuff washing dishes and sweeping , its all done with respect and integrity. This is me and how I live every day ,it comes off easy when I work because its a learned way of living. Years ago I was working in a facility with 24 people to care for and I couldn't give the proper care , unable to stretch my self as far as the needs went so I made a decision to do it on my own, so I could work in the homes and give quality care 1 person at a time. The best part of assisting others is the joy of relief we bring to their lives, its more than a paycheck could ever offer, being able to comfort, gain trust, and to be apart of their day and adding a joke or a smile is an experience all should feel at some point in life. I'm proud to have stepped out of my comfort zone of the industry to work directly with people who need quality care, direct accountability so they can enjoy being home with dependable help........

I am currently attending the University of Wisconsin Parkside for my nursing prerequisites. I will begin my nursing classes in January and will graduate with my Bachelor's degree in December 2017. I have been a CNA for eight years and have experience in many areas. I have worked in a hospital setting, nursing home, assisted living, home health and orthopedic rehabilitation. I enjoy helping people who have difficulty helping themselves, it gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride. I plan on furthering my nursing experience by enrolling in a Nurse Practitioner program after working as a Registered Nurse.

I am a experienced CNA/state certified. I am also CPR certified. I have been working at a nursing home as well for 7 years.

I started as a caregiver in 2005. I have been an administrator of a CBRF Assisted Living for 7 years. I have skills and knowledge of providing quality care to seniors. Assisting with meal prepping, bathing, dressing grooming, toileting and passing medications. I am an advocate for the seniors and love providing excellent care to the seniors.

I started my cna journey working in a kitchen at a nursing facility and I began to interact with the residents and I noticed most of them weren't getting the correct care and genuine care so I got inspired and took the class to become one myself. The thing I enjoy most about being a cna is feeling like I'm doing my purpose that I feel I'm called to do by being that person that can help and even if it just made a difference for a minute of their day. I am extremely caring and sentimental, I am very patient, I like to ask a lot of questions to insure their comfortability, I'm good at adapting person to person and redirecting those that may be a little confused. The most personal achievement I feel I'm proud of is before I became a cna I was patient but nowhere near enough to handle this type of job but as soon as I started connecting with the residents as a dietary aide my patience just hit like a truck and it changed my perspective on the whole job itself and the importance of the role.

I decided to do nursing as my career because I've experienced many years of helping my mother with my disabled brother. Not only have I provided him with the best of care, but there was a bond that was created between us that no one would ever be able to share with my brother, Myles. At a young age, I learned that not everyone can ride a bike or write their name, and it really made me appreciate what I have learned to do. I also had the desire to help him do things he couldn't do, like getting dressed or cooking him Mac & Cheese. He's older than I, but he depends on me, likewise the elderly. I have experienced the beautiful feelings of being appreciated for the little things I do. As I hold a big heart to help the people that can't help themselves and to also provide the absolute best care I can, I feel that this is my career and I knew it a long long time ago. With that being said, the more experience I have, the more wisdom I accumulate. It doesn't take much to put a smile on someones face, which would put a smile on yours.

I have been a caretaker of my whole life. I have a very big family. I took care of my grandfather for over 15 years. He was a World War II vet. Purple Heart Silverstar and was wounded. He was diabetic and his legs were blown up with shrapnel. Amongst other issues. Caring for others is some thing you either have or you don't. I'm very real. I was a former teacher I'm a mother myself. Currently I am Unemployed and I'm willing to help where I'm needed. That's what life is about. I don't feel it's necessary to do background checks I like to be personal it's either it works and you believe I have that to offer or you don't and if at the time you believe that that's what needs to happen and that's what needs to happen I just believe that everyone deserves a chance.
