I become a caregiver when i started working as part time and i realized, how big impact my rules for the elderly who's in need of our care. I like what i am doing since then and Im so proud of what I accomplished each time I finished my shift. I didn't realize , someone like me can be useful and Helpful and that makes me happy to go home knowing that i did something good to my clients and their family. I may not everything they need but I am very caring, confident of what Im doing , compassionate and trust worthy with dignity, caring loving and have a great sense of humor to make my client smile in my presence. I've completed training in the following courses through The Public Authority of Santa Clara County, Last phase of life, mental health, nutrition, personal care, pre-paramedical, Alzheimer's & Dementia Basics, first aid, diabetes, and CPR, to name a few. Being the oldest, and only girl of 4, I Inherited the role of caregiver at a very young age. I started as a babysitter and later in life gravitated towards adult care. I have remained a caregiver because I enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world and hearing their lives experiences, their knowledge, and the wisdom they often share. For me, there's no greater satisfaction than going home at the end of my workday knowing that my presence made a difference in someone else's day and that I am appreciated.

I am from small island of Srilanka ,and back home I was a primary teacher and subject teacher in high school student for 8 years.Looking for kids have teaching experience for six years help for me to take care elderly kids. Year 2008 June I came to U S A as a Permanent residence. From 2009 I got the first client Mrs Sydrion Lofton .She was spinal stenosis client. For four and a half years she got lot of improvements while I took care her. But unfortunately When she had a surgery I lost my loving client. She treats me like her own daughter. She is a good friend to me. I lost first job,friend mother, teacher, well wisher. Honestly I like teaching job . and It take long time to cover the units. But when I stat the caregiving job , It's gives me more happy. and I need to help my daughter s college expenses also. So I choose caring Elderly people.

I became a Caregiver for my Mother when she was ill. It was about ten years I cared for her. I like assisting people that are in need of having a better quality of living and be most comfortable. I get great satisfaction when I can care for someone that deserves better quality of living and care. I decided to get my Nurses Assist and Home Health Aide certification to do my job better. In the past I worked as a Pharmacy Technician and took Healthcare courses to better myself. I enjoy helping other people and learning of whatever it is.

I like to be a caregiver because I care for the elderly. I enjoy worked working with them because I learn a lot of things. Each client I've worked with are so diverse and interesting I experience something new each time. I'm personally proud my work experience of 25 years because I really like my job. I work beyond expectations of the client. I do everything I can for them, I'm not picky about my work. I can do everything, I don't complain because it's my job to take care of my clients.

1. I became a caregiver through the inspiration of my late mother. She was in a vegetative state for almost 2 yrs. due to massive stroke. Reinvented myself from working in the corporate world (banking) to moving in the healthcare field. It's a different experience where one found joy and accomplishment working with the elderly. My salary rate is negotiable depending on client's needs. 2. Being a caregiver is very personal to me.. My focus is always the well-being & safety of my client. 3. Being a caregiver entails a lot of patience, compassion and experience to be able to understand every client's specific needs. . In my former job I was the lead CNA supervising 3 caregivers working 12 hrs. shift 24/7 in our client's own home. My relationship with my client & the family I've worked with has been very pleasant.
