I am a dedicated State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA/CNA) with over 15 years of experience as a caregiver and have provided care to individuals in different settings. I value integrity and compassion as key in pursuit of my career and strive to achieve this with the principle of treating people how you want to be treated. I started caregiving as part time while in college and it turned out to be a humbling and rewarding career for me. Approximately 15 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. After working in a Family Medical office for a couple years, I began my Caregiver career. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, dressing, transfers, wound care maintenance, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I am a CNA and certified in CPR and First Aid, and continue to work on completing additional medical courses and pursue avenues to help strengthen me as a Professional Caregiver. I also maintain current Individual Professional Liability Insurance. Your loved ones peace of mind, comfort and health is my priority.

I am patient, can listen and adapt to different personalities. I enjoy understanding how a patient feels and putting myself in their place. I wanted to be a caretaker to help as many people as I can. I love meeting new people and helping out wherever I can. I enjoy being a companion to a patient and helping out any way I can. A personal achievement I am proud of is when my patient was angry at me for 2 months because she has Alzheimer's and thought I had locked her out, I apologized many times everyday until she realized she had been angry for no reason and apologized. I was very happy for not becoming angry even when she was yelling and apologizing many times although I hadn't done anything wrong. My ability to understand where she was mentally helped me to grow and care even more about her.

I love working with elderly people, they make my days go by fast and I have fun with it. I love helping my clients with things they can't do. I also go out of my way, to make sure their experience is as great as mine was with them.

I have cared for my family and family friends for years. All, I want to do is help those who can't help themselves like they use to do. The way my mother cared for me when, I was young. She gave me the heart to care for others. The smiles on their faces when i can make them happy. Seeing my family walk again after their knee surgeries.
