Went I arrive at a consumer home. I speak to him and ask him how he is doing. Then I ask him do he need any assist.help him out of bed help with getting dress wash face give bath oral hygiene prepare breakfast prepare lunch prepare dinner.and make sur dish are wash and put away and wash clothes and take out the trash and make show the home is clean before I leave and tell him have a good day.

I was attracted to caregiving whenever my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and began to require home health services to keep her independence. This lead me to work for about 2 years as a CNA and take CNA classes within one of the facilities I worked at. I built connections and trust with my residents by treating them with compassion, patience, and by taking time to care for them fully. I took pride in the fact that all my residents smiled at me when I walked through their door because they knew I would take good care of them. I enjoy spending time with the people I care for. I ask them questions about their life and listen to their stories as I do my tasks. This helps to break the ice and help me get to know them as a person. I have also worked with many residents with a variety of different health issues such as dementia, bed bound patients, hospice patients, and patients with various mental illnesses . I have learned how to adapt my care strategies to each individual I work with to optimize the quality care I can provide. I take special care ensure my residents feel comfortable, secure, and in control of their situations.

Having worked in a setting for 3years with clients without any history of abuse or neglects.

I am an outgoing, , funloving, responsible person who is interested in a job helping people and spreading awareness and hope for individuals who are sickly or in the last stages of cancer. I cared for my mother for 2 1/2 years who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and it was medistatic so it jumped from her breast, to her bones, then her liver, and finally it took over her brain. I cared for her from the day she was diagnosed. I cooked, cleaned, tended to her pets, monitored her medication, and transported to and from doctors appointments. That is my personal achievement.....I stepped up and it felt good to know that I took on that responsibility and accomplished it. Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer and passed away in February of 2012.
