I have worked with seniors since I was 9 years old volunteering at senior living care homes. I have always had a special place in my heart for elderly. As I became an adult I knew I wanted to keep working with them. I have worked with several families in Reno for the last 16 years. I am patient, kind, and will give them the dignity they deserve. I have experience helping with medication reminders and organization, bathing, meal prep, light housekeeping, running errands, and companionship.

I am a Cancer survivor and wanted to give back some that loving and compassionate care that was extended to me. My own mother lived to 93 and we as a family kept her in her home and cared for her needs.

My passion is working with the elderly. I am honored by the families that put their trust in me to care for their loved one who may be on the final path of their life requiring Home Hospice care. or is at that point in their lives where assistance is needed in order to continue staying in their home, being as independent as possable, staying safe. My commitment for each and every person is to provide them with companionship, assistance with physical needs and whatever else they need, whether it's writing a letter for them, or baking their favorite cookies, straightening out closet shelves or holding their hand, reading a book to them or just sitting quietly with them. I believe it is ao important to pocess tthe traits that are important in caregiving which are flexibility, willingness to sit still when you notice its what the person you are caring for needs. Paying attention is very important. A caregiver cannot just "be there" I keep logs in order to ensure the Doctor and nurses and family are notified of ANY changes such as skin color, urine intake/out take, bathroom habits, signs of weakness, facial changes, depression/mood changes. If bedridden, log needs to include turning times, any skin breakdown issues, A good caregiver needs to go outside the box, be willing to do what otherwise might be uncomfortable, be drama free. Assisting the family is one of the things that helps them know who I am and relieves some of the stress from their lives. By helping doing even the smallest of details, yardwork, cleaning a garage etc. I promise you that I will make the same commitment to respect, never diminish their dignity and do all I can to provide the stability, comfort your loved one deservesI I did not become a Caregiver to change the dynamics of lives. but to be there to make them feel safe, healty and secure. Compassion goes a long long way.

I have been a caregiver for over 8 years, I worked for a Senior Care Center for a little while before moving to South Lake Tahoe in 1989, as a CNA, I had 2 daughters and put my career on hold to raise them. I worked in a medical office for 5 years prior to taking off 3 months to care for my terminally ill sister. It was then that I realized caring for others was my calling. I quit my corporate job and started my caregiving career. I have always had a special love for the elderly community. Bringing a smile to their face and giving someone love is just so rewarding and fulfilling. I am loyal and very trustworthy and very hard working. I can't wait to meet your love one.

I am a go getter, I enjoy conversation and I enjoy what I do. My Mother had an aneurism which originally drew me to being a caregiver. The joy of being a caregiver is the appreciation that I receive in return from each of the patients. Usually with most patients they do not have a large circle of friends or family so they are so appreciative to receive the assistance of another person. Personal achievements are the everyday joy that I can give a patient on the needs that each individual requires.

I love being a caregiver, because helping people especially elderly is a very rewarding job, someone need to help elderly and that's me, should help them .. Not everyone likes to be s caregiver but for me it's a very rewarding job. I feel good if I can make an elderly patient smile again and especially if they can get back in walking again . I was very proud of myself when a dementia patient of mine was back to her normal situation ( not exactly normal) but giving the medications on time and feeding or reminding her or him that it's time to eat will help a lot in getting better. Time management for the daily activities of the patient will help a lot in getting better for the patient well being . I considered myself as one of the best caregiver at my job now, and will continue to give my good care to the elderly until I retire .
