I enjoy helping others feel joy. When I began my journey as a caregiver in 2008, I worked with alzheimer's patients. To brighten the moment and see a twinkle in their eye was rewarding beyond words. I spent 7 years with that facility. I moved to mental health and expanded my caregiving far further by attending the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. My joy in giving resulted to being promoted into activities coordinator. I left to accept a position as Activities Director. Finding my greatest reward after being recruited to work with a hospice team ! My passion for positive activities helped this team open doors and gain patients from many nursing facilities. Caregiving gives back so much!

I can help recreate fond memories of the past by working with seniors, as I delight in hearing their childhood stories. I chose to become a caregiver/CNA, acknowledging the dedication of family members. I take pride in knowing I provided exceptional care, leaving clients smiling upon departure and eager to see me each morning.

I have been a caregiver 26 years. I have experience working with elderly and disabled patients. I have learn to communicate with nonverbal people to know their needs and wants. I'm a very compassionate, caring and outgoing person. It's important to me that my clients/ patients are comfortable; well cared for. I became a caregiver due to having a daughter with disabilities.

I've always been told that I smile too much. I'm really proud that I smile too much because it brightens up my patients day. Sometimes they need to see a smile to know everything is going to be ok. Working in both hospitals and nursing centers has shown me two different worlds to healthcare. I have really learned a lot from both. I've learned to noticed signs a lot sooner when something is going on with a patient/resident. I've learned to read people a lot faster on who they are or how they like things done. It really does make a difference when you know what to look for. That's why I wanted to be a caregiver and eventually make my way to becoming a Registered Nurse.

Hello. I'm Lisa. I've been working as an in home care giver for 10 years. I love working with people and seeing the smiles on their faces when I'm there to help. I first started doing home care through Home Choice Senior Care, which then became Brightstar, in Iowa. After that I went self employed. I have pretty much done everything that could be needed for clients. Cleaning, meal prep, transfers, bathing, bed baths, dressing, feeding, medication reminders, errands or transporting to appointments, even just sitting and visiting or playing card games. Whatever the client needed or wanted. I was trained in CPR through BrightStarCare. They also trained us on various other needs for the elderly.

I honestly went right in to provider as a young 19 yr girl. This is my calling always will be to make someones day with just a simple gesture or a smile. I think what attracted me as young girl that cared totally 100 percent was just living the life I had and pushed myself to be a bigger and better person,I lived with my grandmother and then she lived in the nursing home and I would always go and be with her and the residents. I appreciated my life by viewing what others lived...Sometimes not so fortunate. Will I enjoy being a care taker to brighten someones day with a act kindness and just being myself...knowing I made a difference in someones Day. My personal acheivment I Made was always knowing that everyone knew that I worked with. Im a very happy person and hardly ever in a foul mood. I love to be around people and make thier day better either with a smile or a laugh. I got intrested in health care when my own father got sick and need care, we werent able to afford in home care so we made it work but he took a turn for the worse and couldn't help any longer. I wanted to help others as much i could.

My best personality traits are that I'm very communicative and I listen very well. I like to make people laugh and feel comfortable. What attracted me to be a caregiver is I can give all my undivided attention to one person and it makes me feel good that I can make a person day by being there to help them around there own home. I personally feel proud of myself for making people feel comfortable with what I do and don't have to worry if there family member is being well taken care of because i personally think I'm a great caregiver
