I'm 47 year old female. In search for a part time and/or full time job. I have 15 yrs experience with traumatic brain injury. Assisted the elderly community with dementia/Alzheimer's. My job description was assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting and feeding. Ran errands. Administering medications.

I've been a care giver for about 10 years now ever since I moved here to help my grandmother after her bypass heart surgery. Taking care of her definitely sparked something in me and I knew that I was meant for the medical field. Since then I've worked with about 100 families from private care to agencies &I also nursing home settings . I have taken care of many people with conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's, cancer , stroke, arthritis. Etc. I have also done companion services & light housekeeping &a cooking . I am comfortable with pets and clients who smoke, though Not a smoker myself. I am available to work around my perdiem schedule at Marian hospital in Santa Maria &I I am available most nights .

I love working with seniors! I went to school for my CNA but started a licensed daycare and unfortunately lost my certification in the process so I am no longer certified but still have the experience and training.I worked with clients who have diabetes so I know how to check BS and administer insulin. I can check vital signs and feel very comfortable giving medication. I have 20 + years of experience with seniors so I feel very comfortable helping with any needs they might have.

I became a caregiver first to my grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer's it's a very sad disease to watch. But we wanted what time she did have to be as good for her as possible. Older people have always had my respect. Ive grown up in such a different way when respect was part of life and I feel compelled to continue giving them respect when they can no longer do for themselves. To nurture ,love and give quality care for them as I'd want done for my loved ones and to keep them clean happy and well taken care of. I have since been with 7 other elders through the end of there lives and have seen a litany of different needs that have taught me alot about caretaking from clients with strokes, cancer, ALS, Parkinsons, complete bed bound,catheters, transfers, bed baths, toileting and handling prescription care. I've also completed the training available to me pertaining to Care Taking..Ive also had a background check and plenty of references.

I am a very hard-working person I wish for prosperity I love being with my family I like my job I like to cook I like to travel The most important thing is that I like to help people who need a hand who suffer from some illnesses like the elderly who suffer a lot I love a lot in my work .The greatest pleasure I have is taking care of them and that they, despite having dementia or Alzheimer's, recognize me and give me a smile is my greatest pleasure because they know and recognize who is good when they are taking care of them.
