The thing that really drove me to be a caregiver was always having to be a helping hand and care for my grandmother and uncle. Once I realized the help and care my grandmother needed after being diagnosed with cancer it drove me to want to give everyone around me the love and care they deserve. Hello, My name Is April Smith. I currently live in Shreveport La, im originally from Tahlequah Oklahoma. I have been a helper most of my life. Growing up my mom had Lucas and I remember always wanting to help her. Even though she didn't ask I can remember feeling like a super hero when I helped her. She was my Hero. She has always been in the business of caring for others. First as a CNA, for most of my young life. And then a an activies coordinator. So it's been a life long experience for me. Myself I have been a CNA, and now a caregiver believe in values, Dependability, and Honesty. I treat my clients how I would want some one to treat a family member of mine. My skills include all CNA training in addition to physical assessments, wound care, patient teaching, medication administration, geriatrics, pediatrics, medical surgical nursing, and companionship with my clients. I sincerely get satisfaction from caring and taking care of others I feel like I'm making a difference in someone's quality of life,and I like to make people happy.
