I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is it helps me greatly and gives me the courage to take care of my son who is autistic. I became a caregiver first and foremost for the flexibility of the the job. When my kids were younger, this career gave me the opportunity to be home with them and work nights. I called the emergency service and stayed with her at the hospital till the family made alternative arrangement. When she was later discharged, I stayed and cared for her till she passed.
