I became a certified nursing assistant in May of 2000. I have worked in many specialties in the healthcare field which consists of med-surg, telemetry,Icu,Brain and Injury, Rehab and Pacu. I also worked in Hospice, and home health for 15 years. I am currently working towards Nursing degree.

I have been a caregiver 40 years. Always had a good repore with elderly growing up. Being there to help a loved one played a major roll in my job. I've worked in Assisted living facilities, Nursing homes and absolutely love it. I've used machinery like hoyer lifts, and other things. I'd prefer to stay away from that and heavy lifting. I also had my own assisted living years ago in upstate Ny.. I'm very experienced and I make it my buisness to be punctual and dependable. I take pride in my skills and I do my very best at all times. Looking primarily for day shift or overnight.

Compassion. I have a caring heart , I can keep the client energized through tough times, motivate the client in order to improve the quality of care I offer. Meeting personal care needs like dressing or using the bathroom, is very much my expertise. I know trusting your loved to a stranger, can be overwhelming, but know you have the right person, Who is patient, and understand that when the client feels embarrassed, frustrated or angry as they grow less able to manage their personal need, I am there to consider their perspective and bring them the satisfaction they so desire. I have 30 years of experience in providing personal in-home care for disabled, cognitively impaired, chronically ill, and hospice patients. I assist patients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. I monitor patients' vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. I am a thoughtful and considerate person who takes pride in providing the best care possible. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I consider it a personal achievement when they recover and there is no further need of my services. That confirms that my work with them has improved their quality of life.

My best traits as a caregiver is being patience,compassion, attentive, dependable, reliable, flexible, trustworthy. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I also like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. The thing I like the most being a caregiver is making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. My personal achievement is being able to pursue interesting, high quality work that has a positive impact. Securing awards, promotions and other acknowledgements of achievement. When I was younger my grandfather had pelvic cancer and I was so close to him I didn't want to leave his side I would always go to his house and help him with whatever he needed even try to cook for him even though I was young and with me always wanting to help him made him smile and I just loved the feeling knowing I can care for someone and make them happy .
