For the past 9 years I was a Personal Caregiver for a 98 year old elderly woman with errands, paperwork, Dr. appointments,and grocery shopping. I also helped an elderly man in his 80's with Parkinson's for 1 1/2 years. During that time I was responsible for medication management, wound care, bathing, personal grooming, dressing, meal prep, feeding if needed, house cleaning, and laundry. I have been certified here from The Care Academy for being a Professional Caregiver, Preventing Falls In Older Adults, and 5 different categories for Alzheimer's and Dementia . I am friendly and out going ,but I love to take care of the elderly because I am a caring person.I pay close attention to my clients feeling and keen observation to what is going on with them and around them.I was brought up by grandparents so I have a lot of empathy for caregiving.My personal achievement is seeing clients get well after an illness knowing I was a part of the recovery.
