About me: My name is Nichole Dabney. I go by Nicky. I have been a service provider and care taker for over 6 years now. I have been liscened Independent Provider with the Department of Developmental Disabilities for over 6 years now. In addition to that, I also teach high school. This is my 2nd year of teaching at Liberty High School. When you love what you do it's not considered work. I got into this field after spending many years of caring for my Mother who was also wheel chair bound. It only seemed right to contine down this path even after she passed on. I think this is something that comes naturally to me. I wear many hats, but Mom is by far my favorite job of them all. I have two beautiful children whom I Love dearly and they are my number one supporters and fans. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in my gifts. I believe that everything and everyone has purpose. Mines is to be a servant to God's people.

I have been a caregiver over 20 years (long term, rehab, old timers unit patients, and etc). I care about the elderly and people that need help and cannot help themselves. Having parents that died in their 60's from cancer it was nice having the experience to be able to take care of them from their homes. Have done homecare over 5 years and really enjoyed working with the family's.

I started giving care at a younger age, taking care of my auntie with a left-sided weakness due to stroke. It was within the family and a non-profit payment job but a rewarding one. I believe giving care is a calling not just a job. I felt a very great joy to be part of her life and assisting her with the rest of my family before her passing. It became part of me and decided to continue to give a helping hands to those who needed it, within my capabilities. You do unto others, as you wish to be done to you.

I've been in this field for 18years . I started with taking care of my great-grandparents then my grandmother, through Blackstone. Caregiving is a passion that. I have love taking care of the elderly and being that support that companionship when someone that can't at the time,I just basically want the opportunity to give someone the love and care they need. when it's not convenient for the family. I wake up every day hoping to make someone's family member smile, laugh and enjoy the rest of the time that they have on this Earth. There isn't a better feeling in the world . Something I would say that would make me a great caregiver would be I most definitely love helping people and I'm a very easy person to talk to and I love to listen something that attracts me I'm being a caregiver is I most definitely like to help people and when they're smiling it's making my day something I enjoy about being a caregiver is it's very rewarding and you learn a lot of wisdom and a personal achievement I would be proud of would be succeeding in life and living the best life I can

I love taking care of others. I love ensuring my patients families that they are in the best hands possible. I am passionate about my patients health, and their overall well-being. I am a caring soul, and often times find myself being an over achiever with absolutely no regret when it comes to those in my life. I lost my grandpa years ago and it was one of the hardest things for me. He resided in a nursing home that he wasn't getting the best care from. It broke me in every way possible. When we went to take him out, he was put on hospice the day of. We then lost him the day after. I became adamant and insisted on giving the best care in the healthcare setting. I started working in the nursing field, and refused to give anything less then my best effort. I strive to make families feel different than mine did. I go beyond expectation to make my patients feel loved, and taken care of.

I love helping people. I have 8 1/2 years with home healthcare & nursing homes. I love knowing I'm helping someone & the smiles & thank you just fills my heart. I got into this field due to seeing my grandfather sick with cancer & my Brian injured uncle. I grew a passion for helping & taking care of others since I was a little girl.
