Hi I'm Melissa, I'm a very outgoing person I'm also very caring considerate and respectful. I've been a caregiver on and off for the past 20 years I've worked with Developmentally disables individuals children, paraplegic quadriplegic guys and girls, and elderly from just very minor help to hospice. I've got experience in medication administrstion, transfering, I know how to follow service plans. I enjoy being a caregiver because I like to help people that can't do for themselves. I'm very good at making people feel good when there down. I'm a great companion for anyone in need of one and a pretty good cook.

I love helping people, my heart is all in when I'm caring for my clients/patients. I can build strong relationships with the harder to care for clients, troubleshoot how to care for dementia/alzheimer patients rather quickly like for an example we had a dementia patient that had not had his teeth brushed in 6 months. I worked with his wife to get him a toothbrush and toothpaste that he used at home, he finally let us help do dental hygiene.

When I became a caregiver I felt like I had found my calling in life. I love caring for the elderly. Giving them companionship and validating them throughout the day gives me great joy. I protect their dignity in their care and include them in what is going on. I love when I can make people laugh and smile throughout the day.

I became a caregiver completely by accident. I was totally new to the career field when I started, but now I love it. I take pride in the fact that I can help people with aspects of their lives that have become challenging, and at times, impossible. I enjoy being someone the clients are glad to see each day I spend with them. I have achieved alot of personal growth during the 6 years I've been a caregiver. Each client had given me a differnt perspective on many things, as well as some good life lessons. I'm sort of shy at first when meeting new clients, but I've come to understand that the transition is just as, if not more so uncomfortable for them. I've come to see that it's not easy for someone who was once fully independant, now has to rely on someone else for even the simplest things. My job is make their lives a little less stressfull, and to make their day a little more brighter, if I can.

I love being able to give people the care they need to be able to stay at home. It makes me happy to know that i can help make it possible for people to remain in their own homes if thats where they wish to be instead of them being forced into a facility. I have alot of patience and am very easy to get along with. I am also very reliable and friendly.

I'm compassionate. I enjoy taking care of and helping others live the best life possible. I've been doing home health care off and on for the last 30 years.
