I enjoy being a caregiver. I enjoy taking care of individuals and helping them out with daily tasks or to sit and socialize with them. It is so rewarding to see them smile and for them to know that they are being cared for by someone who has their best interest at heart.

When someone I am caring for is successful in achieving a goal, that spells success for everyone. I have believed that giving a handup to people who need one is why I'm here and spent most of my working life doing just that. I've been fortunate and believe in giving back, in brief I am client centered. Knowing that some people need a "life coach" to help them achieve a goal, that's what I do. I'm very proud to share a story about a young woman who met "the love of her life" on line. He was from another state, and between her guardian and myself we helped fill in the details and she got to take her first flight to meet her young man who now lives in Vermont and will someday become this young woman's husband.

Hello, my name is Laura and I am 31. I have a wonderful husband and we have 2 children. T. is 12 and B. is 8. I have a diverse back ground with elderly care and child care, and am looking for clients. When I was a child my mother had an in home daycare and she also took care of my grandfather who had MS. From an early age I was introduced to both child care and elderly care and realized that I had a passion to help people. I have worked in a nursing home, had a private daycare, and most recently worked privately in a home assisting a 92-year-old who was unable to walk. I have experience with a multitude of things and am willing to learn. I believe in the golden rule; treat everyone, how you want to be treated. I was raised with a strong sense of compassion, responsibility, dependability and honesty. I take pride in providing the best care possible.

Hello, My name is Sharese! I feel I am fun, loving special person to spend time with. I enjoy making people smile and laugh and know that they can be comfortable and themselves around me. I more than can say enjoy spending time with someone wether it's sitting and chatting, playing games or even going out for walks. What I enjoy most about care giving is knowing that I personally made someone feel safe, smile, laughed and feel like they are important in any way! Love the most is that the smallest things can be the greatest things! The personal achievement that I am proud of is, I am helping someone/family's loved ones be able to stay in their own home and know they will have lots of love, care and best of all smiles/laughter.

I have always been very giving and nurturing by nature. Helping people has been my calling since a very young age. I find a great deal of satisfaction in making someone's life happier. Providing care to those in need is my passion.

I genuinely care about people of all ages and they are able to recognize my level of compassion right away. I have given care to several elderly people within the last few years, and I love to listen to their stories. They have wisdom that can only be gained by living a long life, so it is quite fascinating to me to learn from them by listening to them. Even though a few clients have been quite grumpy with other caregivers, I am often able to bring out their sense of humor by making it all about them--doing things they like and want to do. I have also worked with several disabled adults and children, so my degree in education comes in handy helping them learn new ways to do things. My background in psychology also comes in handy, because it gives me a way to understand the emotional ups and downs of being elderly and/or different abilities. I am also a very patient person when it comes to working with people with special needs. I do not automatically do things for my clients if they can do it for themselves, because often the task will allow them a form of physical therapy. I am very adept at giving praise and encouragement for keeping active and busy. I get as much out of being a caregiver as I do giving, because it helps me to feel good about myself.

Hi! To tell you a bit about my experience I have been a professional health care worker for over 16 years. My experience in healthcare motivated me to pursue my Associates in Nurse Education at NSCC from 2013-2015. In my care history, I have worked with a wide range of individuals with different needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, muscular dystrophy, aphasia, anxiety, depression, stroke. I can assist with medication, appointments, immobility, transfers, incontinence, bathing, dressing, bed sores, meal prep, companionship, and organization. I enjoy assisting clients in activities such as physical therapy, memory training exercises, mental awareness exercises, community activities and happy to drive to medical appointments as needed. I believe it is important to encourage my clients to do things that make them feel connected to what's going on around them, such as with hobbies they used to love, even if in a different form now. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in this field. I have created and maintained many strong professional relationships with my previous clients and their families.
