I was a CNA at a long term care facility. I also worked in a Alzheimer's and dementia unit. I have great empathy and compassion for the elderly. They can teach us so much! I'm proud of being a helpful hand when someone needs it. I had a man who was suffering from dementia and a septic toe that ultimately took his life... but I would sing to him and it would calm him down. He passed in my arms. I'll never forget him. I'm proud that was able to bring a little amount of joy into his world while he was experiencing his worst.

I became a caregiver because I really love taking care of the elderly. I love making them smile and laugh when I am around them. It makes me feel so great knowing that I make a difference in their life taking great care of them.
