I was a caregiver to a quadriplegic professor when I was in college to help pay for my tuition. After college, I continued doing private care on the side for some Alzheimer patients at a nursing home. In 2004, I enrolled at a nursing school for a year and a half. I did not finish my degree, but I did receive my certification as a CNA and as a Medication Technician. I keep up to date with the newest discoveries and findings in the world of medicine. Even though I have not had any new medical training, I am current on my knowledge of diseases, medications and side effects of such medications. For instance, I am aware that when you care for an Alzheimer's patient, you step into his/her world, and not insist that he/she conforms to your expectations of what is real. I am compassionate and capable. All of the kids are either all grown or almost grown, but I still have this vast need to nurture. My husband refuses to be smothered, so, I need to go out of the house and find someone else who would appreciate being cared for :-) My kids are my biggest accomplishment. The eldest is going to medical school this summer, and the middle one is attending UMKC in August. The youngest one is doing great as a Sophomore while giving out just enough sass to maintain her teenage status.

Growing up I have always been very interested in helping people for their daily living. I am kind, gentle, and very compassionate person. What attracted me to being a caregiver was generally to help people and advocate for people. What enjoy most about being a caregiver is to be able help people in their sickness and you see how their health improves. One of my personal achievements is to be able to graduate from school, proud of that.

I became a caregiver because I believe we all deserve quality care in times of sickness and end of life. I have been a licensed care giver since 2006 but my first job in health was in 1999. I am CPR certified and I currently have an EMT license as well as a CNA. I am experienced in almost all area of care. I would love to take care of your loved one in your home.

I am a great caregiver because I have empathy and compassion for my elders. I receive as much as I give. no better feeling than being able to give as well as receive. I have spent my whole career (39 years) at AT&T and now I am wanting to give back.

What drives me to be a care giver is not only because its a job its a okace were i feel like i belong taking care of others who needs some one who ubderstand their time of needs and when its apporerate. My personality traits that help me be a great caregiver is knowledge and understanding of all types of people and conditions. I can become attached to clients as I get to know them as they can become basically like family. I enjoy my work and job as a caregiver, its the most rewarding job I have had before I became a mother. I do enjoy connecting with my clients early and knowing routines for their lives so I can be the best at their needs and wants.
