What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

Hello! I started out as a certified nurse aide in the year 1999. I decided to help care for people when helping care for my great grandmother. It felt great to be able to be there for someone in their time of need. I have since cared for so many different types of ailments, diseases and people who need general household help. I've ran errands, did light cleaning, fed, bathed, assisted with walking. Cooked meals, taken them to appointments, also sat as a companion. I've helped others go through hospice care, cancer care, Parkinsons, dementia, alzheimers, sundowners, after surgery care, wound care, broken body parts, stiff body parts...lots of different things. I've been helping the elderly population for 24 years now. I enjoy being there, listening/talking with them, going out to lunch or shopping. Staying in doing puzzles or watching old westerns or just simply being there for them in any way I can. I've spent time with others on holidays as well. It's interesting to spend time with people and hear their life stories of "how it used to be" or to see how town was in the 40's or 50's or back when there was horse & buggy rides to school...enjoy it all. I like to spend my time with my grandbabies also doing crafts or watching my favorite series. Family is everything to me, we all try to be there and help each other as much as we can. I just always had a passion to help others it's just something I love doing. Being able to give someone that extra help they need so that they can stay in their own homes makes me love what I do even more and also just seeing the joy that I bring into their lives not only makes their day but it also makes mine. Going back to school and receiving 3 certifications was a big accomplishment for me. I am a motivated quick learning who is eager to help others. I am very passionate about my work, I love what I do. I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes as well as homecare settings.

I fully believe we all have a calling in life. This happens to be mine. I've been a certified nurses aide since I was 18 years old. I've worked with all facets in which the job could entail. Private and in house facilities. Dementia/Alzheimer's - the blanket of it and it's branches, quad and paraplegic inflicted folks. Colostomy care as well as wound care. The list goes on. However, whatever the aliment, or the the age, we are all people, with feelings and tempers and day to day challenges. Sitting down with someone, hearing stories about their loves and accomplishments, simply giving them time and attention is what I see is most important. The smiles, hugs and love make my job worth it each and every day. I would be happy to sit down and meet you, your family and loved one and see if I am the right fit to help them carry on, when sometimes life seems like it's taking simple tasks away from them and comfort and ease them into a new chapter. I believe I'm a great caregiver cause I do what I have to do. Always on time . I always get the job done.what made me be a caregiver was that I loved working with the elder and love helping them out in anyway I could as if it was my grandmother or grandfather. I love being a caregiver cause what I do and other caregivers do makes the clients happy on how we are helping them and what we do for them . I believe my personal achievement that I am proud of myself is working with clients that are on hospice.

From the time I was 14 years of age, I have been a caregiver. My brother was in a horrific car accident that left him paralyzed. I learned quickly how to care for him. After he regained some semblance of his life back he retreated towards drug use. I sat with him through withdraws and recovery. Now 33 years later he is still clean. I have been a CNA,HHA,PCA, office personnel, a farm manger, a part of construction crews, and a HVAC Technician. I have met many people with different abilities, both intellectual and physical. With that said I am able to relate to many different types of people. I come from a long line of farmers and military and respect both professions to the highest degree. We should honor our Vets and our forefathers. Both men and women.
