I became a Caregiver after I attended college as a Human Services student. I knew I always wanted to provide care to others and my time at college showed me I needed to pursue another direction other than college. I want to help others by providing one on one care and to enable them to be as independent as they possibly can at the same time. When I can assist people by cooking, cleaning or encouraging people it warms my heart to be able to do so. I enjoy helping others. I have professional and personal cleaning and caregiving experience.

For me, being a caregiver isn't just a career. It's my calling in life. I feel as though it's what I was put here to do. My very first job at age 18 was as a caregiver for a lady with MS. I cared for her as a live in for nearly three years with one day off weekly. I then moved to direct care for disabled individuals and have accumulated several years experience. I am certified in first aid/ CPR, medication administration, insulin trained, and have a wide path of experience to fall back on. I was also caregiver for my mother for five years until she passed from ALZ. I am currently attending college studying Human and Social Services to better provide for those I work with and for. I believe that being a caregiver requires a special individual, just as special as those I care for. I have always felt that the individuals I have met and worked with have each been a blessing in their own way and I am the lucky one for having them in my heart and life. I view my clients as family, nothing less. I am dedicated, sincere, patient, full of good humor, not easily upset, and my greatest joy is making others happy. That's the biggest benefit of all. I became a caregiver because its my passion to take care of others. The best part of being a caregiver is that making sure the person that can't take of themselves are well taken care. The personal achievement is when they thank you so much for coming and so happy you are there to take of them. I am 28 years old. I am have never been married and I don't have any kids. Taking care of other has always been my passion. I have been a caregiver about 4 years. I am being doing home health care for 3 years. I am reliable and have excellent transportation. I am just looking for something on the weekends.

When I was a stay at home mom, my mother became seriously ill, it was then when I decided to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. My husband and I moved in with my parents so I could give around the clock care for my mother until she passed in '07. I then worked in a Hospital for only a few months and decided that kind of enviornment just wasn't for me. Since then I have been working in Nurseing Homes and love the feeling of family and friends, there is a feeling of closeness, respect, and love I develope for my patient/resident that I personally cherish, and helping others in a loveing and careing way.

I grew up an a family of EMT/Firefighters/Caregivers, so it was pretty much in my blood so to speak. I enjoy helping others. I enjoy being able to help others with things that are difficult now for them to do, and the smile it brings to their face, it gives me a sense of comfort knowing I made their day better. A personal achievement I am proud of is that I am currently working FT, going to school, and am the mom of a 4 year old little boy, and have maintained fantastic grades, and made the deans list. I enjoy keeping myself busy, spending time with my family, and getting to know new people, especially the families of the people I take care of.

I've been a state tested nurse aide for 25 yrs. I love being able to help others, I have lots of experience. When I was young my grandmother use to take me to work with her she was also a stna and she always told me to treat them no different then I would her and grandpa. I'm very compassionate and love being an stna! I've worked in the nursing home setting for yrs. I'm currently working for Hospice and to me it's an amazing honor to be able to take care of others loved ones.
