I feel that I am a great caregiver because I am patient, understanding, a great listener, compassionate, and very caring. I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated. I am a positive person, I love to smile, and laugh. I am also trustworthy, supportive, and encouraging. When I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer (Stage 5) 6 years ago, my one and only Caregiver by the name of Barbara, was the absolute best. She took very good care of me, and was such a joy to have around. One day I told her that when I get better, I was going to become a Caregiver too because she was such an inspiration and blessing to me and my family. I am a natural born nurturer, and I love taking care of people. It gives me such a fulfillment in my spirit to know that I did something that day to make someone's life a little easier. I am proud of the fact that I was able to complete my courses to become a Certified Nurses Assistant 2 years ago, and I plan to go back to become State Tested to enhance my skills and knowledge in this particular field.

I am an energetic and positive caregiver! My first patient was my grandmother who was a patient of cancer for 20 years. Since then, I wanted to be able to help loved ones be comfortable in their own home where they can enjoy alot of the same things they always have. I have a passion to care for those in need. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the lessons learned by your patients and hearing the stories that make up their past!

I became a Caregiver after I attended college as a Human Services student. I knew I always wanted to provide care to others and my time at college showed me I needed to pursue another direction other than college. I want to help others by providing one on one care and to enable them to be as independent as they possibly can at the same time. Here are some basic caregiver job responsibilities: Change linens and make beds Prepare and plan meals (including clean-up) Help with walking and light exercise Plan ahead for future meals, check expiration dates on food Do laundry (may include light ironing) Light housekeeping duties (such as vacuuming and dusting) Assist with dressing, grooming and bathing Take out the trash Run small errands (pick up prescriptions, go to the bank, etc.) Remind when to take medications Engage in mental and physical exercises Escort to appointments (doctor, physical therapy, hair salon, etc.) Organize mail and maintain a schedule/calendar Escort to religious services Engage in regular activities (talking, games, etc.) Provide companionship Record daily care notes Make note of any significant changes in the client to the agency/service

I became a caregiver because its my passion to take care of others. The best part of being a caregiver is that making sure the person that can't take of themselves are well taken care. The personal achievement is when they thank you so much for coming and so happy you are there to take of them. I am 28 years old. I am have never been married and I don't have any kids. Taking care of other has always been my passion. I have been a caregiver about 4 years. I am being doing home health care for 3 years. I am reliable and have excellent transportation. I am just looking for something on the weekends.

I became a caregiver because I watched my Grandma in the nursing home get treated poorly and I wanted to make a difference in at least one person's life. I make a good caregiver because I treat everyone like they're my family; I'm loving, caring, and very compassionate about what I do.

I grew up an a family of EMT/Firefighters/Caregivers, so it was pretty much in my blood so to speak. I enjoy helping others. I enjoy being able to help others with things that are difficult now for them to do, and the smile it brings to their face, it gives me a sense of comfort knowing I made their day better. A personal achievement I am proud of is that I am currently working FT, going to school, and am the mom of a 4 year old little boy, and have maintained fantastic grades, and made the deans list. I enjoy keeping myself busy, spending time with my family, and getting to know new people, especially the families of the people I take care of.
