I enjoy being a caregiver because I always wanted to be a nurse, due to family I didn't get to accomplish that and can not go back to school any time soon. At the age of six my father who was my only living parent had a massive stroke. From them till the age of 13 my brother and I cared for him in the in all areas of showering, toileting ,giving him his diabetic shots, fingersticks, and medication. From a young age I knew the significant of being a caretaker, and the compassion and understanding it would have on others who I might care for in the future. I come from a long line of men and women in the medical field. My mother at 33 was the president of respiratory therapy at a Paris Texas hospital my father at the time was LVN . I have two sisters that are RN's. We love what we do and I care for others as they are my family.
