Hello My name is Martha i live in Sacramento CA for about 36years moved to Davis CA to attend a better school.In my senior year i volunteered to work at this facilty working with the elderly AND I TRULY ENJOYED IT from that day in 95' i knew what i wanted to do.I started medical school in 97' but...found out i was pregnant i had put to put my dreams on hold.In 99' i started working at State Franchise Tax Board for 3yrs then my day my Co-worker asked'hey do you really enjoy working here i stated NO but i need to provide for my family from that day on i told myself 'do something you like to do! I can say i separted myself and found a job working with the elderly in 04' from then just worked as a caregiver for YEARS my daughter a teenager now so i decided to go back school and get my RN license and here i am! Thank God!

I have worked in Home Health both in nursing homes as well as memory care facilities for over 10 years. I love helping people, I also feel that in some ways this is my ministry even though it is my part-time job. I have experience in memory care, ADL's, transfer assist, gait training, lighthouse keeping, meal prep, companionship, and bathing and grooming, I have dependable transportation and arrive to work on time and don't miss days unless I am ill. I am normally very healthy, and I insist on cleanliness and am constantly washing my hands. I would like to think I am extremely cautious in keeping both myself safe as well as you. I've had extensive training in HIPAA and sanitation. After retiring from Health and Human Services caregiving became my passion. I'm a very conscientious and hard worker and yet I still remain cheerful throughout the day. I also am a Certified Activities Director so I feel like I bring a little more than just caregiving. I believe that seniors need daily activities to stay happy and healthy and if possible to be a part of their day-to-day activities and have a purpose. I started in the medical field at the age of 16, because Iknew that that was what i wanted to do. I continued on when I went to the air force working with my fellow soldiers, when I came back home I have worked in Drs office , and ultimately working for elderly and Hospice. It is very fulfilling to know that I can make a difference and put a smile on someones face just by being there. Helping people is my PASSION

I love that I get the opportunity to listen and learn about thier lives as it allows me to live vicariously through their many adventures, life accomplishments and travels.
