I've been a caregiver for 8 years. I specialize with individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as physical disabilities. I am a host home provider who provides care for individuals in my home. I tend to work with clients who have a higher needs both medically and behaviorally. I treat my clients as part of my family and love to have fun with them in the community. I first became a caregiver as when I was a little girl, my dad ran a very big charity in texas called The Big Texas Toy Run where we would collect toys for children with intellectual disabilities who's family's were showing times of hardship. We then donated proceeds to various organizations. I volunteered there from age 4 - 18 years old.

I would often volunteer in the facilities she worked at, and I started as a CNA myself when I was 16. I have experience in a variety of healthcare settings, from home care to facilities to pharmacies to disability care. I have completed extensive training in Alzheimer's and dementia care, intellectual and developmental disabilities and basic life support and first aid. I have always been passionate about helping people and I love being able to help seniors stay in their homes and maintain their independence. My career has always been working as a Sales Professional on the West Coast. As I worked, I was also putting in many hours volunteering as an in home hospice companion, in home palliative companion, and serving in convalescent homes. I am currently considering being a Hospital Chaplain as a career change since this is where my heart is at. I'm a social person who loves to provide a positive environment with everyone I meet. My appreciation for hospice came when my mom needed this service and I knew somehow I wanted to be on the caring side of the industry. Please know my Sales career has helped me adapt to a variety of people which helps me meet them where they are at vs. a "canned" approach to all. I am high energy, reliable, and try to make the person I am caring for feel respected, loved, and like they are the center of the universe. If it's important to you, I am a Christian. Hello I am Alicia- I have done private home care for approx. 15+ years. I find it very rewarding to give the care I wish to receive for myself or family members if/when I may need help doing everyday tasks. I raised 4 children & now have beautiful grandbabies to enjoy & visit them as often as I'm able to. For the past year & a half I've lived with my dad caring for him and his COPD- on November 21st he lost the fight against his disease. I have been a CNA of October 1999 and have worked in many places medical fields. I enjoy working with people who need a little TLC. Those who wish to remain at home but just need a small amount of support to achieve this goal.

I became a caregiver to assist my great grandmother and I wanted to do anything in my power to help her stay in her own home. I used this drive to start working for a home health care company and help ones stay in their own homes. Seeing families that are caring for their aging parents and grandparents inspires me to do what I can to not only help my clients but also their families in these trying times.

I became a caregiver because I love helping others. My passion is to help other live the best life they can. I am caring, compassionate and will go above and beyond to assist my clients to live their best life. I became a caregiver because I grew up with a mom who was a caregiver. I went to work with her and helped out with activities at the age of 12. My personal achievement would be, that I've been doing this for 15 years and I'm not ready to quit.
