I have worked as a daycare teacher for almost 3 years and have helped take care of my own love one with disability. Started working in assisted living facilities and helped take care of the elderly as well throughout the years out of their homes. It takes COMPASSION AND PATIENCE AND HEART in this line of work. I have been blessed with friends and former coworkers referring families about me and that speaks volumes.

My name ia Marissa and Ive been in the healthcare field for 15 years . I started as a caregiver, cna , and now Im a lpn for 12 years now. I Am a great Caregiver. I have patience, dependable, Im flexible, and have a passion for working with seniors especially the dementia population. For the last 3 years Ive been doing home health visits working for several home health companies. I also have experience in long term care, assisted living, methadone dispensing, and pediatric care.

What makes me a great caregiver? I listen...to the patient and to their family members. Why did I become a caregiver? I love people...I care about people and I like helping others, and always have. What do I like about being a caregiver? Satisfaction I get from patients...That their needs have been meet, their happiness, smile I receive from that patient, the look in their eyes (that says thanks). What is a personal achievement that I am proud of? Finishing my associate's degree (Medical Assistance). Currently I am working/ training for Dialysis tech.

I love working with elderly people. I am a very caring person honest hard working and loyal. I took care of my grandmother for 5 yrs when she became ill. I enjoyed every minute with her. I have been a cna since 1990 became private caregiver for the past 15 yrs. I really enjoy working one on one with individuals. My personal achievement was going back to college.

I have been a CNA since I was 18 yrs old( so 25+ yrs) and I must say it takes a special kind of person to do this type of work. I would treat your loved one as if they were my own family member, with respect, compassion & dignity. I have always had a passion of taking care of others so the patient would get the best quality care they deserve and that I could provide for them.

I have been a nurse for almost 20 years. I became a nurse because I enjoy helping others. I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly and throughout the years I've always seemed to gravitate in that direction. I've worked in skilled care doing IV therapy, wound care, and g tube feedings along with many other skilled duties to include administration of chemotherapy and IV pain medication. I also have a special place in my heart for disabled children and adults. I have an adult son with Angelman syndrome who now resides in a group home setting. I'm now wanting to branch out on my own. I want to give care to individuals on a 1 on 1 basis. I've also had experience doing palliative care as I once worked as a palliative care nurse.

I began my career in dentistry. I graduated from Indiana University with a certificate in Dental Assisting and earned my Expanded Functions of Dental Assisting in 1996 and went on to be a sophomore in dental hygiene and pre dental. While attending dental hygiene I became married and had my son Gabriel. During this time I took time away from school to stay home with my baby! When he was two I went to work as a Dental Assistant again. During this time I noticed Drs treating patients as numbers instead of people. So my nurse friend asked if I would like to work as a home health aide/ caregiver for home health Visiting Angels. I started working with Visiting Angels in 2013. And I found my purpose!! I worked with hospice, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, and being a companion. I have a lot of experience with medication reminders, bathing hygiene, ect. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving/ home health aide is putting smiles on my patients faces, helping them as much as I can so they know they are cared about. I treat each patient as I would want my family taken care of!! I'm very compassionate and patient. I give over 100% And I absolutely love what I do. I can go home at night knowing I helped someone, I put a smile on their faces or held their hand. I not only help them but they help me as well.

I am a mom to 5 beautiful kids I live in Laporte love animals, outdoors, games , making people smile. I treat my clients as if it was me or my family members . When I was 14 I signed up at a nursing home my mom worked at to be volunteer and well it was that day i knew what I wanted ro do and here I am decades later and still doing what I love just being able to put a smile and give them companionship knowing they have help and a new friend I have clients to with early late stages of dementia, altimizers. Strokes . I don't like clients to filling like they r being baby sat I let them know im there to help
