I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

I am a very passionate, honest and professional Registered Nurse . Right from a young age, i always wanted to work with the public to make a positive impact to people's life and that is why i decided to chose a career in health care. I enjoy providing care and treatment to sick people /service users. I pride myself ensuring that those under my care happy and valued. Iam great caregiver because I like to keep elderly motivated, push temperature to do things that they may think is impossible for them to achieve. Being a caregiver was not my intention but at the age of 18 I volunteered at Sunrise assisted living, from there I fell in love with learning more about Dementia that progress with age. I became more paitent, caring, loving, empathetic, honest, trustworthy. Also am certified as an Medication Technician. I go above and beyond to make sure my client is take care of correctly and receive the correct care.

Being a care give have gave me the pleasure and understanding and helping the elderly with their needs and providing assistance and contributes to their environment that is respectful for Patient and Family. I become a caregiver because I enjoy working with the elderly and meeting with the family member to let them know that their love one is being taking care of in a professional manor. I appreciate the little moments with your love one by spending time with them talking and laughing and show them that your always there for them.

What makes me A loving caregiver is that i'm always trying to get to know them to see pictures of the younger them and share some things about myself that is relatable to them. I always try to do activities that they love to keep them happy. I love that I get to see what they used to be like far as what they love to do, where they like to go, what outdoor activities did they like to do and so on. I just love to be their company when their family can't always be there. I got a raise for always getting great feedback from family members about my caregiving and how that their family loves me.

I love being a caregiver, It's who I am, and a part of my personality. I started my journey in this field about 7 years ago.... I have worked in home care, assisted livings, and nursing homes. I am Cna/Gna licensed in Maryland.

I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy. It does my heart good when the person and family I care for tell me "thank you". My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I have learned a lot of different things about being a caregiver such as, womb care, medication, transferring just to name a few. My current job is working on the ICU unit of a hospital so i have gained a lot more experience in the medical field.
