I graduated from Rasmussen college with my diploma in medical assisting in April of 2021, covid had hit and I decided I didn't want to be in the doctors office, rather one on one with a client in caregiving. Hello my name is Ashley and I realized I'd like to take care of people and animals from a young age I have a very loving heart and sometimes it gets me into a mess but I only see the better in people that they do not I'm outgoing I can make you smile and laugh on your bad days beat the shoulder to cry on or the ear to listen when you need it. I think I'm a good caregiver because not just that I care so much for my client but I am ready to go as far as they are without pushing them or nagging them. I try to address myself when coming in a room so I don't scare anyone in said room. I lost my fiance of 8 years to cancel I've had family that said cancer or died from alcoholism and I just try to see the better and people and help as much as I can even with everything I've been through I still have to make sure that people are getting the right care that they need

One thing I have learned about myself throughout my nursing career is how much I enjoy the elderly population. I have experience in large nursing homes, small home to individual care. The intimacy of individual care has me hooked! Really getting to know a person, what they really enjoy, that's what it is all about. I was lucky enough to have had my grandparents in my life till a couple years ago. I took care of them at the end, as tough as it was, they had a beautiful end of life. To me, that is the most important thing. To allow and encourage them to do what makes them happy while offering the support they need. That could be something simple like having that favorite meal, going for a ride to a favorite place, or just having someone to talk to. It is my responsibility to ensure they are able to enjoy life, and I am committed to doing all I can to make them smile each day.

I became a CNA in 2005 because of my love of the elderly. As a child i always preferred to spend time with elderly couples from church after sunday service. I enjoy caring for others.
