I cared for my mother and aunt while their end stage life with lung cancer and aunt with breast cancer and schizophrenia. I have 2 autistic sons and have cared for them and received care while in their youth. I have experience in caring for the elderly, hospice patients, dementia. I enjoy caring for patients, and making their day better as their days are limited. When hearing their stories of their growing up or experiencing one appreciates their life experiences and history.

I am a retired nurse with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia. I am certified in many areas of nursing and fluent with many medical equipments including oxygen. I am very out going and love to laugh, cook, do laundry(yes, really!), And I take pride in my work.

I am careful, safe, organized and coordinated in transporting clients for their needs whether it is for picking up medications, getting them to and from their appointments, filling out forms, helping with their shopping, all personal care service for their daily living for and anytime they want some simple conversation and just not be alone. To give and share with clients, one must be compassionate and patient and have an understanding that those needing care would like for the caregiver to understand their needs. There happens to be an advantage to being a caregiver that can put themselves in the shoes and situation of those with the need. My joy is realized when the needs are filled and the cared for people are grateful and thankful. I want to give the care and experience the joy often. I have experienced this joy with my parents as I cared for them. Currently I am a part-time caregiver for various clients providing them all the assistance they may need. Professional and courteous, always on time. Administering medication and food through a gastric tube. Bathing and attending to other personal hygiene and grooming needs. Food preparation and feeding client, according to strict dietary requirements and procedures Cleaning and light housekeeping (client's laundry, dishwashing, cleaning spaces used by client and caregivers, cleaning therapy equipment) Assisting with therapies (cognitive, speech, occupational) and range-of-motion exercises, including manual transfers to and from bed to assist client with weight-bearing and balance exercises. General companionship and interaction with client (i.e. reading books, cognitive therapies). Driving client to and from appointments and activities in a client-provided wheelchair accessible van.

I worked with students with disabilities for Northside ISD for many years. For a few years now, I've immersed myself in the seniors care field and have devoted my work to assist the families of: a WWII 94yr old veteran with dementia and blindness, a 63 yr old retired DEA agent with Parkinson's symptoms, a charming southern lady with fall risks, an army veteran with Alzheimer's, and a former Texas cowboy with post-traumatic brain injury. I'm well versed in providing many services required in at-home caregiving. I have helped with everything from mobility, light housekeeping/meal prep, meds mngmnt, and bathing to companionship, bathing, wound care, and physical/occupational/speech therapy exercises. Hello, My name is Krysten Williams, and I have a passion for the geriatric population as I am in my second year of my doctoral program in occupational therapy (OT) at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. After I graduate in May of 2023, I plan on working in a skilled nursing facility or inpatient rehab setting because I have a passion for serving this population. My doctoral program as well as work and volunteer experiences have prepared me to be the best candidate for this job opportunity. Furthermore, I have obtained over 200 clinical hours from combined patient care through shadowing and working with occupational therapists in various settings such as a SNF, hospital, outpatient setting, and home health setting. I currently care for a lady living with dementia and have worked in two assisted living homes during my time in undergrad. Furthermore, my experience working as a rehab therapy tech at CHI St. Joseph Health provided a unique experience for me as I assisted both physical and occupational therapists in providing therapy to the geriatric population. My courses in school have focused on the geriatric population this past year through numerous geriatric courses in adult biomechanics, neuroscience, and mental health. I am a very welcoming and encouraging person as I enjoy meeting knew people and learning what interests each patient. I know that I would be able to engage my assigned client in meaningful conversations based on their interests because I am passionate about providing care for this population. Hello my name is Jacqueline but I go by Jackie. I am 31 years old and I have been in the home health care field for about 11 years. I am a very empathetic person and make a good companion because not only have I been in this field for so long but I have also taken care of my own family members who were also special needs and have had different kinds of diagnoses. I love being a care giver so much that when I finished school for dental assisting I found a job that still encompasses that type of field because we go into nursing and assisted living facilities to provide the dental care they need. Because of my job I am fully Covid vaccinated and I am tested weekly sometimes twice a week. I am proud that I have been able to show people in need of caregivers that there are people who actually see caregiving as more than just a job. Most of my clients have passed away (adults and children) but I do have their family members info as well as the agencies I have worked for if you need any references. My rate is very negotiable because I have been on that side of looking for caregivers for my own family members and I am still working as a dental assistant so NIGHT or OVERNIGHT hours preferred . I have recently started school so I am just looking for a little extra money to help pay for school.
