I am from the small island of Tonga in the South Pacific. Family is the center of my life. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, hanging with my family is everything. Respecting our eldest is one of the core principal in my culture and I apply it to my daily lives. Hello there. I'm Gabby. I'm a very outgoing, energetic, positive vibes CNA and currently working on obtaining my RN degree licensure. I offer excellent care for your loved ones, giving you the peace of mind you need and deserve. As a single mom of three teenagers (now all 3 are in college!) I moved to North Carolina 8 years ago to be closer to my own aging parents. In 2015, Dad became wheelchair bound with Parkinsons and Mom was no longer able to care for him. I rolled up my sleeves and made the necessary renovations on my home there and moved them both in with me. I pushed pause on my nursing studies and was able to spend some great quality time with Dad before he passed away a week before Christmas in December 2018. Mom's dementia had been progressing, so I became his sole caregiver and provided for his every need until he "graduated." Three months later, Mom had a massive stroke rendering her the equivalent of a three year old. No longer able to dress, toilet, or feed herself or even articulate what she needed, I stepped up to the plate again and began caring for her 24/7 until her death one year ago. I would not trade even a millisecond of the time I was able to be with my parents. It allowed me some great moments with each of them and helped me fine tune my skills as a professional caregiver. ***I worked for 5 years as a Police Officer for the Ogden City, Utah P.D. I graduated from the Utah Police Academy. The Police Academy provided weeks of intensive First Aid & Trauma Response Training. I served 3 years in Patrol as a First Responder for all types of Medical Emergencies, Serious Automobile Accidents, Overdoses & All Criminal Activity. ***I received several commendations while in Patrol and was promoted to Detective after the first 3 years. I was assigned to the Crimes Against Children Division where I conducted dozens of complex investigations involving Child Abuse, Neglect and Crimes of Child Sexual Abuse. ***I also attended & graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's Degree Political Science and Social Sciences. ***I was the founding partner of Thurgood Development Company. We Developed & Built 8 major Senior Residential Projects in N. Utah from 1986-2017. I understand & appreciate the needs of seniors especially as it comes to living independently & as safely as possible. I know from direct experience that Seniors & the Disabled very much want to maintain their independence. ***I volunteered and trained 2 days per week for 7 years at Manor Care Nursing Home in S. Ogden, Utah. ***I retired from construction in 2017 but soon found myself wanting the work with Seniors again. I went to work for a Leading In-Home Senior Care firm in SLC. I underwent significant additional training and have several Utah State mandated Certifications in First Aid, Elder Care etc. ***After 4 months with the Leading In-Home Senior Care firm I was chosen as their CARE-GIVER OF THE YEAR. I am assigned as Exclusive Care Giver for 3 of their VIP's, whose names are household words in all of Utah. ***I have many references from persons who I have cared for and dozens from Seniors that I have built homes for over the past many years. I am 6'3"- 220 lbs and well trained in personal protection. My clients are safe when I am there with them.

I am a compassionate caregiver who is up to date on training necessary to deal with clients. I am a good listener and am able to pick up on cues fairly easily. There is a lightness about me and I feel clients can be at ease with me as their caregiver. I am understanding and kind because I know that depending on someone for care can be a hard thing to surrender to. I have always been good at caring for others because my motives are always genuine and in the best interest of the client. I enjoy being able to interact with clients and learn more about them and what they like and the goals they have for themselves. Not only does it make me feel good & important to be making a difference in someone's life, it also brings me so much joy when I'm walking out of a client's house being thanked & praised, seeing that smile is a must or my day isn't complete . Caring for others just gives me a fulfillment that I'll never grow tire of.

I have an excellent work ethic and I'm detail oriented. My personality easily lends itself to senior care and companionship. I have a neuroscience and cognitive science education background and am training to become an Occupational Therapist.
