I first became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2001 after my first child was born. I then realized the joy I had while caring for individuals and learned to love what I did. The one on one care with individuals is the best, especially when I see their faces light up when I walk into their room. It makes me feel and know without a shadow of a doubt that I am doing my job correctly. I've learned to have patience and my compassion and empathy have increased tremendously. I have continued my knowledge with an associates in Medical Assisting. My next goal is to continue my education and receive my BSN. I currently am not working and stay at home with. I have four kids now and a loving fiance that supports my dreams in becoming a nurse.

There is diabetes and other illnesses that made me pursuit this field, because I care for them as I care for others. I have also successfully completed the NCIA/ALFM Board of Examiners approved Assisted Living Caregiver Training Program in the state of Arizona and the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program in California. I have been a caregiver to individuals of all ages since 2017. My Nana inspired me to get into caregiving. She had taken care of my Papa who Dementia for years while I was growing up. I am a very patient and compassionate person who enjoys taking care of others. I quickly realized how rewarding being a caregiver was once I began working at an Assisted Living Facility in 2017. I worked very hard and eventually received the Caregiver of the Year Award at the Assisted living Facility I worked at in 2019.

I believe I would make an excellent care taker, because aside from my certification and education, I grew up helping to raise my five younger brothers, as well as help to care for my mother post-stroke. I love to help and care for others; I like to think of them as another part of my family. Not everyone has the ability to care for themselves, and I find joy in helping those who need help. I want my patients/residents to not find shame in needing help, and continue to enjoy their lives, even though I will be there as a hand to help. I am proud and passionate about helping others in any way I can, and am also continuing my education in the health field.

I began caregiving over twenty years ago when my sister became sick and I seen that good caregivers were hard to come by. I started in assisted living facilities and branched out from there. I am a very happy, caring and responsible woman who loves to see people happy and living the best life they can. I am a very responsible person who cares a lot about people and their needs. I was caregiving for a man that was on complete bed care and the only thing he wanted was to go to the barbershop to get a hair cut instead of the barber coming to him. So I got him in a chair and walked him a couple of miles down the street to make it happen. He was so happy and just seeing him happy and feeling independent again was so rewarding to me. But moments like that remind me that it is the little things in life that we take for granted that mean so much to people.
